Doyle must have been lucky that he's had no muscle injuries so far this season. He and his family live in Liverpool so he's up before 5am on Tuesdays for a drive of over 3 hours to Swindon. He drives back home after training on Wednesday for a day off on Thursday the another long drive on Friday.
In the article I posted a few pages back he talks about being sick with worry before signing his 2 year contract at City.
The next few days will be interesting.

With regards what having to perform in front of 17/18,000 every home game ?.

 

Personally I think we should sell him. If Swindon are brave enough to pay all of his wages then it's sods law that he'll get injured a few weeks after signing for them and end up spending a few months out of the team recovering.

 

Not sure about injured, however, history tells us that it is very rare indeed for strikers to continue such a scoring run over 46 games. He is due a barren run, and of course it would happen to us if we recalled him!

So, I would not be too unhappy if we sold him, as long as the transfer fee and saved wages went straight to Bowyers recruitment kitty

 

after Doyle's comments last week where he stated he absolutely 100% wanted to stay at Swindon and did not want to come back to us, leads me to think the clubs have already made a deal and that he is aware of it, otherwise why say them things knowing there is a chance that you may have to go back the club you have said them about? i just don't believe that the clubs will have both just not mentioned anything regarding his future at all, they must have been in contact, even if only to talk about what happens today, it is now January after all, does he play for us or them today?

 

He’s probably just trying to force a deal through that allows him to stay there. Happens all the time in football. Trying to make city think twice about recalling him.

 

I think he should be sold. £150/175k. He’ll be recalled even if just for leverage. However I believe they could afford to keep him and reintegrate him into the team without losing players or falling foul of FFP.

 

The club have said as much according to Simon Parker, or are the club getting it out there to make a statement to Swindon, I'm sure the situation has been discussed by all parties.

 

Anyone know does the recall option apply from today? Wonder if he will be playing for Swindon today?

 

Pretty sure he will be starting for them today. Bowyer has said he isn't eligible to play against us on Saturday and they'll take a look at things after that so sounds like nothings going to change until next week at the earliest.

 

It's anytime in Jan.

So he can play for them today but not against us on Sat.

Just a thought. In that radio interview Bowyer said discussions were ongoing.

If you wanted to recall him there would be no need for any discussions. You’d just say ‘Oi, Doyle, get your arse back here’

What discussions? As things stand he's your player. Why would there need to be disucssions if he is to be recalled?

Anyone seen him today

 

Surely if we were truly interested in bringing him back, he would already be back? His loan deal is until the end of the season and from 31 December we can recall him, thus he could have been in our squad this afternoon. Admittedly unlikely, seen as he won’t have trained with us. But why is he in their squad if he’s our player and we are considering bringing him back.

I believe a deal has already been agreed, hence why we haven’t already brought him back.

 

He's hardly going to come on the radio and say that though is he? It was just your usual diplomatic answer not giving much away.
