There is a recall option which we should utilise. Wether we will remains to be seen. Doyle's form has created a few possible scenarios, technically we could have him back and just stick him on the bench but that won't happen, we wouldn't have let him go otherwise. That tells me you have the option there to take him. What throws a spanner in the works is Doyle's form. And how much Swindon value that form. Do they really want to go up, because thats what we're talking here. Forget about 'don't matter we can bring another striker in to replace him', Bollocks, it don't work like that, finding goal scorers is as rare as rocking horse sh!t, you currently have the most prolific in the country. Which we own.
You'd better hope Power still has the Christmas cheer in him come January. And the cash we want.

Maybe to save both clubs the embarrassment.

Swindon as he won't sign for you all on a perm
Bradford because fans will go crazy if he's not recalled.

However, Bradford fans know we can recall him in Jan. Rhodes has to admit he messed up- AGAIN!

    Totally agree with you
However it begs the question why wasn't this done when he was wearing our colors
Quite simply GB didn't recognize his talents was not prepared to listen to him and refused to alter his formation Do you really think things would change if we thoroughly pissed him off and brought him back kicking and screaming
This whole situation is down to GB inability to recognize what he had Swindon obviously did

It was Rhodes decision to loan him to Swindon.

    Bowyer didn't want too mate.

Then he should have grown a pair and said NO !!!
Who was it who signed Vaughan & Donaldson
The writing was on the wall for Doyle when that happened
Don't think that would have been Mr Rhodes decision

Bowyer said in interview that he was called in the office and said an offer had made which is being accepted and might allow us to get a few players in.

He said he didn't want him to go.

If you remember he tried to play Vaughan, Doyle and Donaldson together!

Mr Rhodes isn't a footballing man mate.. hence why this deal happened and he's made the club look like mugs!

Doyle's in red hot form for Swindon, playing in a team tailored to him and that suits his style, hes enjoying his football and understandably wants to stay. I give it 2 weeks until its announced that 'it was best for all parties' and 'we dont want players in the building who dont want to be here' from the powers that be and he officially stays at Swindon. Theres absolutely no way he'll be returning back to City, to play as he has been doing for them. His heart wont be in it

Yet we do hold the all of cards for once, and this time I think we should ensure we get the going rate for him, the top scorer in all 4 divisions. Anything less than £100 - 150k in our pocket given his 6 months left on his deal, then we've been done! He'll get Swindon promoted and how much is that worth?! Hope we stick to our guns with this

So we sit down with a player who is out of contract in 6 months and who openly states he does not want to play for us and ask him how he he would like us to set up around him,a novel approach I suppose.
Do you believe Bowyer or any other manager would do that.

I can't see the kid Semenyo coming to Swindon he was brought on as a late sub at Sheffield today.
You say "Actually, we pay most of his wages. Which is why he came to us in the first place" but you don't know if he will be staying with you or returning, why's that is it open knowledge in Swindon how much you contribute to Doyle weekly wages ?.

How is recalling Doyle and sticking him in the reserves less embarrassing than the present situation?

It would be a disgrace to do that out of jealousy and spite.

No professional organisation should treat staff like that. Shame on those suggesting we sabotage his career.

He wouldn't be in the reserves!

Many teams have 4 good forwards.

I would think the situation was put to Bowyer you need to get rid of some high earners if you want to bring more of your own players in, I doubt very much it was a situation of Rhodes telling Bowyer Doyle has to go. a derision for Bowyer to consider one or the other.
Doyle played in our first 2 games in a position that only made sense to Bowyer as he subed him in both games, the lad was like a fish out of water and performed poorly and IMO that made Bowyers mind up to allow him to leave on loan and free up so funds to bring other players in.

No, it wouldn’t be like that, Doyle would be good he starts up front. If he chooses to down tools and underperform then he gets benched. It’s up to the player to try his best for his employer

I think that after signing Vaughan and Donaldson Doyle's days were limited
Why sign those two and expect to have the wage budget for all three
Not spotting Doyle's potential and failing to get the best out of Vaughan is a severe embarrassment to him and sets the alarm bells ringing for me

I'm not sure spotting Doyle's potential had anything to do with Bowyer signing Donaldson and Vaughan, he always quoted he wanted pace and power Doyle certainly doesn't possess either where as Donaldson does possess power in the role he plays.
Bowyer saw plenty of Doyle last season he obviously thought Vaughan was a better option along side Donaldson or he would not have paid (I would suspect good money for them both).
What I would say is as we knew Doyle still had 12 months on his contract to run maybe Bowyer should have had a word during the closed season with Paul Cook who was Doyle's manager at Chesterfield at the time and had also worked with Doyle at Sligo Rovers what was the way to play to get the best out of Eion.
After his goal scoring exploits at Chesterfield he failed at both Cardiff and Preston until Oldham under Richie Wellen's took him on loan where he scored 11 in 12 starts before having a bad injury (I believe) and returning to Preston, so once again during the closed season he could have sounded out Wellen's with regards and the best way to play Doyle as at that time Wellen's would not have known Doyle was going to be allowed out on loan, once Wellen's found out he took the lad to Swindon and the rest is history, but lets not kid ourselves anyone saw Doyle hitting this kind of goal scoring form, so we live with it and make our decision in January.

According to your local journo we are paying 2 thirds of his wages.

Re Semenyo, they have 2 players going out on loan in January, him and a lad called Janneh. We played a behind doors friendly with Bristol during the week and talk is definitely one of those is coming to us. Apparently, there is some rule in the Championship about having at least one home grown player in the Matchday squad.
