Yeah it must hurt every month when Rhodes runs the payroll with Doyle on it.
But we only have ourselves to blame, Stuart was sacked without any real reason and was replaced with 3 terrible managers who have all failed to get the best out of some very talented players this season and last.
That said, the table doesn’t lie and we are still in a very strong position going into the transfer window especially if we win the next 2 home games.

 

That's true so perhaps he should have been given more of a chance after the new players arrived. Obviously Bowyer rated him behind Vaughan and Clayton and thought those 2 would get enough goals between them. That's not happened which has made the situation worse.

 

Guys, it’s simple.

This player is evidently capable of scoring 35-40 goals in a League 2 season.

GB simply needs to sit him down and say Eoin, based on our resource tell us exactly what your ideal tactic would be where you feel you could score as often as possible.

Whatever he responds with - practice it in training and implement it.

 

I hope it’s not Rhodes negotiating a transfer fee with Swindon, I wouldn’t trust that muppet to run a raffle.

Clearly listening to GB hasn’t got the best out of him, so he can tell GB exactly what was happening at Swindon so we can play to his strengths and replicate that.

I think there is merit in it ? If you ran a business and it was failing in one key area. You are able to recruit an absolute proven expert in that area with the sole purpose of correcting that failure. Do you not listen to his ideas and expertice ? Total madnesss if you didnt ?. Doyle can teach the lot of them at Valley Parade about goal scoring. Infact he should paid extra as a Striker Coach if he comes back. Definitely you dont have Bowyer or Dreary on striker drills ! ????

 

You'll be having kittens if he returns surely? One man team. You got anyone lined up if that happens? Can only see you dropping like a stone if Doyle returns.

 

Both absolutely spot on.

Get him back and base our attacking style around his strengths, treat him with all the respect he deserves and make him feel welcome, wanted and eager to play for us.

 

No idea if we have anyone lined up - just like every transfer window. Semenyo from Bristol City has been mentioned. You do realise Doyle doesn’t create his own chances? Any replacement will play in a similar role. Even scoring at half Doyle’s rate would be fine.

Anyway, the chances are slim he’ll be back with you, I reckon.

Look, you know and Bradford City should know that this shouldn't even be a debate.

Let's look it like this:

If a player who has scored 21 goals in the league (your team was playing in)was available for free then Swindon, Bradford or any club in the league would want him.

Bradford City are a disgrace if they don't bring him back and Rhodes should go!

 

It would be suicide not to. I wouldn't expect him to score like he has been if we bring him back but it's totally necessary to do if we are serious about promotion.

 

Just my thoughts here, but to spare embarrassment on whether you recall, sell him or whatever I’ll wager it’ll be announced that there is no recall option in his loan agreement - even if there is.
