Probably because he's a very good CB.

Great point, It was more a rhetorical question though. I probably don't watch enough PL to properly form an opinion but Tarkowski has been in a very solid defence for a while. Stones when fit is still better than Keane and maybe even someone like a Lewis Dunk is worth a go in a friendly? Probably all very much of a muchness though.

I was hoping Gomez would be first choice for Liverpool this year but he seems to have even dropped below Lovren now so I'm not sure what's going in with him.

Harry Maguire totally epitomizes what's wrong at Man Utd very poor and unfortunately he is carrying that form into his England appearances
May not be popular for this but I think it's time we dropped Harry Kane with virtually no midfield he is our only "out ball" and to be fair he isn't good enough for that, as all good strikers should be his only thought is to score goals sometimes an easy pass to someone else in a better scoring position would be a better option another who carried his current club form into his England form
Last nights performance was very poor fortunately we don't have long to wait to put it right against Bulgaria

It was Kane that set Sterling away for our penalty and eventually our goal.

England have a few problems at the minute but I don't think the forward line is one of them.

    Could be right
We have more "in form" strikers at the moment tho

I was more saying who is Michael Keane. To be honest I don’t watch much Premier League either but I couldn’t even tell you who he plays for

Right lads here is tonight's tactics, Sideways, sideways, back one, sideways back one to keeper, sideways sideways sideways, To me, to you, to me, back to keeper, sideways, sideways until absolutely sure they have had time to mark everyone up, then hoof it forward until we miss pass it and get caught on the break,

Repeat as many times as you can when in possession without breaking sweat,
And no its not boring I played this way for years

He's got 7 in his last 5 England games. He's definitely not "out of form" at international level?

I think you look rather foolish for sneering at this one now.

Lingard still utterly horrendous and nowhere near the England squad and in decline. Bowen makes that PL step up....

Seriously? Nobody looks foolish but yourself.

Making the step up to the PL and proving yourself as a decent PL player worthy of an International call up are two ENTIRELY different things.

I never once said he deserves an England call up. I said I would have him over Lingard (who doesn't deserve one either). It was a throw away comment.

    Pipe down.

Not exactly a throw away comment when you resurrect a thread nearly 4 months later to try (try being the operative word there) and prove a point. :joy::joy::joy:

Where am I championing Lingard for England? You're trying to twist the conversation now.

The debate had moved on to who was better at the time and the only logical answer was Lingard.

Id say now that Bowen has had his chance to show what he could do in the PL....its fair to say he has done more than Lingaard this past 12 months and will be ahead in the pecking order. I could tell Bowen had something even at Championship level - and that Lingard was all but finished at the top of the PL.

Will Bowen get a call up? Not unless a few injuries but I am positive he is on Southgates shortlist.

    Cheers.

He was 50/1 to make the squad in February, he's now 10/11.

If the options are him, Sancho or Grealish I wouldn't pick him but he's not doing himself any harm at the minute.

The Berba like spin against Wolves shows how much confidence he's playing with, well done to him.
