    I think you look rather foolish for sneering at this one now.

    Lingard still utterly horrendous and nowhere near the England squad and in decline. Bowen makes that PL step up....

    Seriously? Nobody looks foolish but yourself.

    Making the step up to the PL and proving yourself as a decent PL player worthy of an International call up are two ENTIRELY different things.

    I never once said he deserves an England call up. I said I would have him over Lingard (who doesn't deserve one either). It was a throw away comment.

    Give it a few months and he might be back in the championship.

    Give me a shout when he's played for a top 4 club, has multiple International appearances and has played in the champions league and at major international tournaments.

    Means very little. Lingard should get there on merit, not past glories!!!

    If that's the case get Joe Hart and Wayne Rooney recalled.

    Lingard has no chance anyway, loads ahead of him. And not a regular for Man Yoo anymore.

    Where am I championing Lingard for England? You're trying to twist the conversation now.

    The debate had moved on to who was better at the time and the only logical answer was Lingard.

    Id say now that Bowen has had his chance to show what he could do in the PL....its fair to say he has done more than Lingaard this past 12 months and will be ahead in the pecking order. I could tell Bowen had something even at Championship level - and that Lingard was all but finished at the top of the PL.

    Will Bowen get a call up? Not unless a few injuries but I am positive he is on Southgates shortlist.

    Lingard was class on Wednesday. Played in the hole and looked like he'd been playing with Antonio and Benrahma for years. He was a bit lucky to get two goals though, TBH - the keeper made a right hash of the second one.

    Bowen is a good player as well, though.

    Things are definitely looking up for my other team this season. Moyes doing a fine job.

    Lingard was the best player on the pitch last night by a country mile. He looks completely rejuvenated. Getting him to the Happy Hammers on loan looks like a Moyes masterstroke.
    Bowen also played well, out of position up top in Antonio's absence.

    He was 50/1 to make the squad in February, he's now 10/11.

    If the options are him, Sancho or Grealish I wouldn't pick him but he's not doing himself any harm at the minute.
