Not bleak, just pointing to a few comparables. All depends on comings and goings.

The only semi you will see in Bradford is when @Fordy117 is polishing his Merc.

 

We have thirteen thousand paying fans which equates to six thousand at average prices we have an expensive stadium and standing costs. So its more of a level playing field than you think. Having said that I think with good management we can do it first time

 

In that case it will go with the 33 previous occasions this season

 

At this stage when we have no idea how we will line up next season I would say it was a 50/50 bet

the OP stated biggest club, i agree we are a big club for the division. however, we've actually no idea how many ST's we've sold. only that we've sold a % of 13000.

 

Wouldn't be at all surprised if he wasn't look at Fulham once they were relegated are on a bit of a run

Most aren't bothered about us but are bothered about their future careers so have to show some form for any watching scouts

Fan base. Largely in my opinion driven by cheap tickets. The local council isn’t interested in City, would arguably be borderline hostile to the club. The changing demographics of Bradford are likely in my opinion to mean the fan base won’t grow significantly in the future and may well shrink.
History. The majority of the last 75 years in the bottom two divisions. One FA Cup win, 108 years ago, two FA Cup quarter finals, one 43 years ago, and one League Cup final.
Stadium size. Prentice Park, Stadium MK are a similar size. And to be fair, there are much better stadia then VP which hasn’t seen a fat lot of investment in the last 15 years.
Recent successes. FA Cup quarter final, a play off final defeat and one win and a League cup final in the last twenty years. Good compared to the others down there but it’s in the past. Players should be flocking to Blackpool on that basis.
Desirability. Hard to quantify, but Forest Green and Salford if they don’t go up and do go up respectively are two clubs who will be spending more on wages than City, you’ve got the London/SE clubs who are always going to be more attractive for younger players who want a footballers lifestyle. You’ve got the reputation City have picked up over the Rahic years, easy to get a bad reputation, harder to shift it. Plus Bradford itself is a proper shithole and training facilities aren’t great either. Agents and players talk to each other and I can’t imagine there are too many with a good word to say about City at the moment.

City are in a good position compared to many in League 2, but hardly giants who players will be climbing over each other to play for, replace the size of Valley Parade with a Walsall sized stadium and the lustre of Bradford City starts to wear off.

Salford will in my opinion be a big draw for many players if they’re in League 2 next season, paying good wages now, probably not far off League 1 level, the Man Utd connections, (sort of) in Manchester, a young vibrant city, and will probably be at the sharp end of the division of the last few years are anything to go by.

But what does biggest club mean? 10 years ago who’s bigger, Bournemouth or Bradford City? It’s meaningless crap. We start next season on the points and with a smaller or similar budget to a host of clubs
