I wandered into C block shortly before kickoff. It was packed. By sheer chance, my usual ST seat was vacant. It did feel weird sitting in my normal seat without all the usual suspects around me.

Excellent game though. Thoroughly entertaining. No complaints about the result, despite the possibility of handball in the build up to their winner. The way they pinged the ball about at pace was mightily impressive. Something for us to aspire to

 

The great ticket fiasco. its gone , get over, move on.
I thought it was a really good game and we played our part. The way they moved the ball was a joy to watch. We defended well on the whole, bar the equalizer and a bit unfortunate with the winner. unlucky when Harratt hit the post 2-0 would have made for a different game.
We do look like we have a team there and with a bit more time and no injuries we should do well.

 

Have to admit I got that wrong, supprised with the big turn out, it created a great atmosphere though

 

I was told by a club official that you were meant to sit in the seat on your ticket. Got to that seat and there was someone in it and it quickly became clear it was treated as “unreserved searing” despite the club not actually saying either way on pre-match articles.

Be glad to get back into my normal seat on Saturday anyway as I was sat by some right Neanderthals last night - looking forward to being back with more normal people.

 

Enjoyed last night despite the defeat.

Entertaining game from start to finish and our players give their all on the night.

Hats off to the Blackburn team who were excellent on the night and without sounding disloyal, a joy to watch. The pace, movement and trickery from their players was superb on the night and different class to what we will see from league 2 opponents. They were just far too good on the night, yet, if Harratt had have scored instead of hitting the post, could have turned our completely different

Wouldn't it be great if we could get back to the Championship in the not too distant future and see that type of football every week in front of 20,000 passionate fans.

I'm sure MH took a lot of positives from the performance and equally a lot to think about in how we can improve going forward.

 

On the night i asked two folk at the ticket office and two separate stewards one inside and one outside. All said it was unreserved seating. By the numbers queuing for tickets i'd say there was far more than 20% of the crowd queuing that was quoted on here, more like 50%. heck, even the folk sat around me knew it was unreserved seating. the club could have been more clear but the Hull game was unreserved and pretty much every cup tiethat is seen as a low crowd puller is sit where you want. The problem wasn't the seating arrangements, it was too few ticket outlets open and too many turning up expecting to walk straight in five minutes before kick off.
Maybe make kick off 8pm next time? But i'd just expect the majority to still turn up 5 minutes before kick off because its what they do for a league game

 

I ended up in the Kop. God, they aren’t joking when they say that is a stand full of mutants.

i dont get why the ticketing system made you pick a seat when we knew it would be unreserved. Pain in the arse trying to get sat with others in the group buying seperately.

 

I was sat not far from the "singing section" in the lower kop. My god -one lad spent the whole evening chanting "your support is fecking shit"-that was literally all he was bothered about. Though to be fair I have also sat in the main stand and midland road over the years and I would say each has its own moaners and naysayers in equal measure.

Hey, I sit in the Kop, season ticket holder, don't knock the 'mutants'!! It's our 15 fingers that make that huge wall of clapping noise when the players enter onto the pitch and our missing teeth that help our fantastic singing....

 

Im only kidding mate. I was in there for the fantastic PL years and in the Bantams Bar for a few years too. We just got sat with a load of kids in the corner yesterday unfortunately lol. All City though arent we

I'm not too disheartened by losing to a very good Blackburn team. I always want them to do well (though not at our expense) just to pee off the totally deluded Dingles, who think the world (and the EPL in particular) have an agenda against them.

I'm not a bitter man, but second to City going up, nothing would give me greater pleasure than Burnley & Huddersfield being in League One.

 

It was absolutely fantastic in the first rebuilt Kop (standing).Loved every minute of it.

 

Perhaps if they were in League Two?

 

Yeah it was a great atmosphere. When i started going as a nine year old we used to sit on the barrier that went right up to the advertising hoardings. How times have changed now with the health and safety

 

We also had great seats when the upper deck was added. Two or three rows from the front of the upper tier. 6 of us in a row, three behind us and five in front. All Corn Dolly matchday regulars, even a couple of ex Leeds fans who swapped to City became firm friends . It was a great time. We gradually broke up due to the long journey from Hertfordshire . Kids get older, lose interest and so on. Happy days though.
