Thats all well and good when work commitments etc allow. If people finish at 5pm, live in Bradford and have access to a car it would be far easier to get to the game with plenty of time.

If you finish closer to 6, live outside the City and rely on public transport then you may have problems.

I was there for 7pm because my working arrangements allow for that. Some retired people may have no issues either. However on evening kick offs time is a factor to attending games which it may not be for a 3pm Saturday kick off. Don't just presume everyone is able to rock up to games as easily as you do. Those who have been sat in the pub since 5pm and rock up at 7.40pm are a different case, they only have themselves to blame.

I think it’ll be more appropriate to judge on a league start tbh, despite the score line I felt we were well beat other than having a final go last 10 minutes. He was quiet for most of the game but I can’t criticise any of the players last night as Blackburn were as good as I’ve seen at VP for years. Lewis was rightfully man of the match or it could have been a cricket score. All that sad Kian did nearly make it 2-0 and it would have been a different game, but it was still well against the run of play.

I think the club underestimated, or were caught unawares by the level of attendance. Originally, I'm sure that the plan was to only open the lower tiers of the main stand and kop but they had to open the upper tiers

Rovers fan here with some thoughts and to address a few points.

    1) Lovely night out against a proper club in a proper ground. Personally, sick of going to soulless clubs in soulless bowls like Hull or Wigan. Get back up soon so we can have another proper derby. With the best will in the world, we don't always have the room to move the ball like that in the Championship and recent games haven't seen us play so brilliantly.

    2) While our midfield and attack was the 'fringes' plus some young lads we have very high hopes for, we were all absolutely terrified about the defenders. We thought you'd put far more balls up into the box to bully them with. RB was Joe Rankin Costello who is an ex-youngster who never quite broke through and he'll be off to pastures new soon. LB was Tayo Edun who is a Jack-of-all-trades type. Came from L1 but hasn't quite shone yet. Looked good last night mind. To address the poster in awe of whoever's above him, Harry Pickering is slow, ponderous and by far our weakest link. He is at least a LB by trade. He might have played at CB but got the night off. Shame for you. Louis Annesley is an international CB (Gibraltar) on debut and will be out on loan this week I assume. Have him by all means. Tyler Morton is a midfield kid from Liverpool who we put in CB because there was literally nobody else left at the club. The 17 year-old came on to add experience late on! You can have Jack Vale the target man if you like. He'll be loaned out too.

    3) We weren't saying Cook was a sex offender. That was Ashley Barnes the Dingle. It's a pathetic chant TBH and only the chavs sing it. We have quite a few of them.

    4) Tickets were a mess around our side too. One turnstile was accepting card payments and it caused havoc. In the end, they allowed cash but lots missed the first quarter.

    5) Finally, it was our Ewood Express' first away trip last night. Led by the outstanding Yasir Sufi, various charities and youth groups buy up tickets to distribute to youngsters (predominantly South Asian heritage) who wouldn't go otherwise. We need more fans and a quarter of the town are traditionally Utd or Liverpool (or not football at all). A great initiative that others would do well to copy.

    See you soon...

Absolutely. We have to acknowledge they were a better team with more skills and resources available. Fast accurate passing from back to front. I thought we did well, but in the end the best team won. Ref was abysmal.

How many more games are we going to see abysmally poor referees? Seems like most of them?

The referee was poor last night and appeared to be losing control. However we were beaten by the better side, anything else is being disingenuous.

I fall into the latter group, but don't complain about queues. My only observation was how strange it was that there were separate and badly signed turnstiles for physical tickets and e-tickets.

It's my choice to sit in the pub unto half an hour before KO, because that's part of why we go. If I miss the KO because of it, then c''est la vie.

I just blame @Bigrod@Bigrod for spending too much time talking about shoes !!

There were arguments behind me last night about seats and people sitting in others seats. A bloke was having a go at a woman who was only doing what she was told and that was being able to sit anywhere. Where as the bloke rocked up and said he had bought these seats.

I really think BCAFC make a rod for their own back when they sell tickets in the manor they do. There is no reason to sell individual seats, I bought seats for Exeter last season and the Sunderland friendly this season using the same website which didn't have a seat or row number. If BCAFC just do this off the bat there would be no issue, but because they do it becomes problematic as people believe they are allocated a seat. It's so avoidable and pointless.

I have to admit, I didn't even realise there were two different turnstiles for paper and e-tickets. I just headed to the first turnstile and showed them the barcode on my phone.

I have been in that group of sitting in the pub till 5min to kick off, I agree it's my tough luck if I don't get in. As my younger one is really keen to go now I tend to get there in good time. However in recent years, the pub was one of the few factors to keep me ticking over based on the entertainment provided.

To be fair, for a home match, they could hardly sell tickets in some other "manor" (soz, couldnt resist)

If someone had come up to me and asked me to move I'd have laughed in their face. People were clearly told at the ticket office it was unreserved seating, not the ticket office staffs fault that folk are thick as mince. I got caught up in the queue at the hull game, got there last night a bit earlier, about ten past seven and there were no problems at all, dealt with straight away. The club could have more windows open but then the amount of folk turning up 5 minutes before kick off it wouldn't have mattered how many windows were open. Here's a tip to most people, get there a bit earlier. Not easy for some but the vast majority are capable of doing so, instead choose to moan when they leave it 5 mins before kick off to get in.

How many people do you think actually bought tickets from the ticket office for yesterdays game? I'm guessing a good 80% of people went online and were presented with a ticket map of the stand where they had to select seats. So why would people not be under the impression that they were buying the seat allocated? There will have been zero contact with the ticket office for the vast majority of the people in the ground last night.

If you bought your ticket online you were told you had a reserved seat. Unless you follow this website you would have no clue that the fixture was now unreserved seating. I don't think it fair to describe those who were misled in this way as thick as mince. No need to argue once the situation is discovered though.

No problems losing to any team better than us, however the standard of referee has got to be a major concern. The problem for me is consistency of decisions…… They are all over the place. This waving on play after a foul has been acknowledged and immediately the ball is lost as an “ advantage” they should be brought back for the original foul. Some are doing it some continue to play on…… Some do it in one portion of the game, yet not for an identical incident 10 mins later. It gives the impression that control of the game is lost………familiar in last nights game by all accounts?

I booked online and had to choose a specific seat. Only found out it was unreserved seating when I overheard someone outside the ground.

People were also clearly told it was allocated seats:

Before arriving, I was aware that people had been given different information, so I was quite happy to go either way and, as it happened, my 'allocated' seat was unoccupied, so that's where I sat.

To be fair to @Bigrod@Bigrod , I have to share some of the blame for that.
I'm afraid I've succumbed to my habit again today. Half price sales - can't resist the buggers.
