The disappointing thing is he is no better than Colin Doyle who we let go, he's not the worsted we've had and to be fair with the assortment of defender he's had in front of him any keeper would be jittery.
For me Bowyer will have had a look at our players who will still be under contract next season he needs to decide if any of them are going to be regular starters, if so he brings players in to complement them, not an easy task but at least by having these last 11/12 games to run the rule over them he will be in a far better position that Hopkin was.

 

Yeah we more than matched a play off bound team.

 

What gets me is why we haven't played a basic 4-4-2. A back four of whoever seems in form. Then, on the left, it would have to be Clarke or Woods (the latter for me), Scannell I would have started on the right (if he hadn't lasted he could have been subbed) and then two from Akpan, Anderson, O'Brien, Payne, Clarke and Butterfield. Up front, two from Doyle, Miller, Ball or Patrick. We've too many central midfielders due to ridiculous recruitment so just leave them out for the sake of balance. What did we have to lose? Bowyer has gone wrong by trying to shoehorn players into positions that don't suit them and the results are plain to see. Five defeats on the trot. We were in the last chance saloon today and we didn't buy a drink.

 

What stats?

When a keeper makes a great save to keep us in the game (as O'Donnell did last week) it goes unnoticed as our defence continues to gift goals. But when he makes a howler as he did today, he's suddenly a shit keeper who never makes saves.

 

Doncaster comfortably in the play offs looked bang average today. One mistake and they win away for the first time this season.
Fine margins.

 

Enjoyed the game today not the result similar to a few games this season Luton Portsmouth for example we haven’t got what we deserved because we haven’t got the centre forward we need . I thought P OCConnor was excellent subdued one of the best centre forwards in the league a shame we haven’t seen him sooner. I also though Clarke was back to his best today.

 

Bang average is generous. Same applies to Charlton last week too, shows what a shite league this is.

 

Striker wasn't the problem. The final cross/pass was not good enough at all.

 

Played well today dominated the second half . When they play poorly criticism is justified so taking into account our deficiencies which is obvious we did ok today

 

Clarke was back to his best? I didn’t realise he was on in the first half.
As for Bowyer i think thats as good as hes gonna get out of that bunch of players. The same problems kill us every week. Lack of physicality and no pace whatsoever. Make no mistake that was one of the worst away performances i’ve seen this season. A half decent side would have wiped the floor with them. Unfortunately we lack the fundamentals to win games like this, just like we’ve lacked them all season. Its the reason i wrote this season off on the first of February, those fundamentals were never addressed.

 

Or the fact we played them on bad days. Never understood this because a decent top 6 team didn't thrash the club bottom then the standard of the league must be shite.

Back to his best non-assisting, non-scoring, running around in the middle 50% of the pitch, doing knack-all, having zero influence, contributing nothing towards us having the potential to win more than one point best?

It's not about opinions, football is about facts unfortunately. The team that scores the most, wins.

We scored nothing, Billy created nothing. He's created nothing since he re-joined and he's not scored since he re-joined.

Theres no opinion here. He's a waste of a wage.

 

Miller? Barnsley obviously see something in him. And again, what did we have to lose. Playing one up top in our situation is very hard to justify. We aren't scoring goals for Christ's sake.

 

TBF he did have a good second half and was involved in most of the play. Certainly a quite 1st half for sure.
You don't rate him that's clear but he did no less than any other city player on the pitch today.
