O’Donnell joined city last season because he didn’t want to play for Northampton in league 2 , so I can see him wanting to leave. Scannell will probably have his agent touting his name about because I feel he will think he’s above league2. O’Connor ,Wright ,Riley and Akpan will probably sit tight because they won’t get the money their getting at city anywhere else. Doyle I’m not sure about ,does he try get a move to another league1 club but will have to take a pay cut or does he stay here and stay on good money and try score a few and try get a move in January. Reeves is anyone’s guess , is he suffering with a mental illness and might never play again , or has GB put an arm around him and started to bring him back from the brink , only time will tell. Robinson either needs finishing or brought back and allowed to play. Other players have played whilst been out on bail whilst a police investigation is carried out so why leave him out for almost a season. Will Mellor want to go back to league 2 football or try to get a move elsewhere. He had interest from a few clubs last summer before he joined us , so he might get offers of staying in league1. Patrick should be paid off to free up a spot , it shouldn’t cost that much. Gibson’s got potential but doesn’t seem to have the right work ethic or attitude to progress into a decent player which is such a waste. Bowyers got a lot of decisions to make over this summer , let’s hope he gets them right.

And the manager as well? Cause he's been shi&e since he's been here.

The owner should sell because he's been sh&te since he's been here in taking the come forward.

Point is yes last season was poor but we've to move on from it.

Whoever is here at the start of the season is here. We've to offer a clean slate and go again.

I would like to think because the whole team were sh&te then we can get few players in that are leaders, that have a bit of pace and strength then the players still here from last season will step up also.

Ben Wilson gets a 3 year contract at Cov. Some others will get moves to div 1 clubs, so for me you really need to stop looking at last season on an individual front.

Last season as a collective was a disgrace. It wasn't an individual thing and it wasn't all Edin's fault.

It's now time for Bowyer, Rupp, Rhodes, the players to step up and its time for fans to demand better from the club.

Ben Wilson should have been in ahead of O'Dozydonnell sooner! Clearly can play above our level. Not too hopeful if O'Dozy is in the firing line in the D&D League next season?

I'm the same way that Devine should have been in sooner?

    Identical season and performances.

Isn’t this a contradiction? You’re telling fans to give last season’s waste-of-a-wage players another chance but then tell us we should be demanding better from the club?

We have lots of players in our squad and I want them replacing with better. Unfortunately, this won’t be easy, but it’s what I want. No, actually, it’s what I demand from the club ...... (but we all know that fans’ demands mean NOTHING)

Not sure I agree with you on that from his few cameos at the end of last season.

He's started once in 2 years, whether it's injuries or whatever we need to see more. He obviously hasn't been picked for a reason that isn't just injuries.

Said in the annoucement “I am looking forward to seeing him continue improving as a player and establishing himself in the first team.” This to me looks like hes going to be on the bench!
For the start of the season anyway!

If I recall correctly when he made his first appearances it was as a midfielder. Then he got injured and since then seems to have been seen as the back up full back and has not had a run in midfield which I feel is his best position. Needs to get stuck in pre-season and take his chance with both hands to show GB what he can do.

A one year extension for a young player implies to me that the club/bowyer aren't convinced but are willing to give him a final chance to develop. If he cant force his way into this team in league two then I dont hold out much hope for him having a future here. In some respects he's another player to suffer/benefit from the jack of all trades master of non syndrome. Useful to have in the squad but not specialised enough to maje it in the first team...We'll see...

I think that at 22, in beer parlance he will still be a bit green and needs time to mature in the cask. Adjust the finings and make sure that the venting is working. I would say he should be in his prime condition between 25-30! ;)

How does that work then Dennis. There are 7 places on the bench and if all 7 have to be HGP how will clubs be able to put a foreigner on the bench, which leagues does that apply to, how are clubs such as utd, city, Chelsea going to get round that rule if it includes the premier League?

In the EFL, it's 7 HGPs in the matchday squad, not just on the bench. It's a silly rule in my view since in the EFL, it has never been an issue other than possibly for teams relegated from the PL.

It's slightly different in the PL since they have to have 8 HGPs in their 25 man squad and has been for several seasons. But that doesn't preclude 'foreigners' since players like Fabregas met the criteria having spent 3 years at Arsenal during his development. There are many other 'foreigners' who also meet the criteria.

I think that was more to do with what Bowyer inherited with regards the loan player law/rule, wasn't Clarke contracted to City where as Payne was a loan ?.

I had read it as 7 HGP on the bench, wasn't exactly sure of the rules anyway so thanks for clarifying.

I actually think it sometimes works against Home grown players. They get paid big wages and high transfer fees as clubs have to have them in their squad. However they don't play and get stale. But because they are on high wages they can't or won't seek playing time abroad. look how the likes of Sancho etc have massively improved after showing some b*lls and moving on
