The article is a tad hyperbolic, but it chimes with what I've been saying.
Of course those who see Brexit as the be all and end all of everything will not believe these things, because he is their poster boy. But Cummings is a deadly dangerous individual in the heart of our government. He's not just an 'advisor' as Trevor appears to believe - he is the mastermind of the whole operation. He's a one man wrecking ball who is determined to destroy time-honoured institutions of our democracy - the independence of our civil service and judiciary. Johnson and Gove don't care how seriously he has undermined confidence and compliance with the pandemic messages - they are on an ideological mission to subvert our democracy and he is essential to that aim, so they will do anything to keep him with them, whatever the pandemic consequences.

You clearly have absolutely no idea of DC’s upbringing and the family he’s married into. Fck me, how do people get drawn into and believe this shit?

Whatever the reason Cummings is hated by left wingers and their newspapers is because he stuffed them over Europe and he routed them at the election.

My view is that people who both have autism or care for those who have the condition need patience and understanding. That support should be in place, where they live.

Rather than try to write up my own views, then I will cut and paste a synopsis from a scholarly article. What is my opinion, is that rather than uproot a child, who has the condition the Cummings could/should have sought assistance in their area of residence.

Sometimes minor changes such as moving between two activities, can be distressing; for others big events like holidays, starting or changing school, moving house or Christmas, which create change and upheaval, can cause anxiety.

Some autistic people have daily timetables so that they know what is going to happen, when. However, the need for routine and sameness can extend beyond this. You might see:

    • changes to the physical environment (such as the layout of furniture in a room), or the presence of new people or absence of familiar ones, being difficult to manage
    • rigid preferences about things like food (only eating food of a certain colour), clothing (only wearing clothes made from specific fabrics), or everyday objects (only using particular types of soap or brands of toilet paper)
    • a need for routine around daily activities such as meals or bedtime. Routines can become almost ritualistic in nature, having to be followed precisely with attention paid to the tiniest details.....
That is part of the Guidance from the National Autistic Society.

That is excellent advice and these sort of things are becoming much more well known. We don't know enough about this story to speculate. It could be that the son has very regular trips north and it's part of his weekend routine so it wouldn't be upsetting or disruptive for him. Also, life is life with ups and downs and things can't always be meticulously planned for children with autism and sometimes they have to have a rough time.

I've still not seen any confirmation that the child has autism.

I'm not sure I understand what that really means. But if you mean the BBC has a natural left wing bias on the news reporting side, I suggest you investigate a little further. There are some key presenters at the BBC whose allegiances lean towards the Tory party and not the Labour party. Of the high profile ones, these include Nick Robinson, Andrew Neal and yes, Laura Kuenssberg. One of those was in the Remain camp and two were in favour of Leave. There are of course others who lean in the opposite direction such as Andrew Marr and Emily Maitlis. Collectively, their own political leanings however doesn't stop any of them from challenging politicians of all shades.

Privately educated, former City trader, man of the people Nige holds the record for most appearances of a politician on Question Time. As leader of a political party, he is certainly entitled to some air time. But many commentators of both sides questioned its quantity and the frequency of his regular QT slot.

Which is completely irrelevant to the final vote whether you agree with it or not. Everyone knew the at the start what a majority vote meant and that was the higher percentage of the side that got the most votes of the electorate who bothered to vote in a two horse race wins. I'm not debating the outcome of the vote, I care not one iota, but that's how a two horse race works.

The result has gone and past. No poi t in discussing how or why the vote came about. There is a discussion to be had regarding how successful or unsuccessful it has or hasn't been but that wont be known for years. There will be evidence then to show what effect Brexit has had but as we know analytical data can be used and abused to suit your agenda.
