Another lockdown will lead to civil unrest. I know quite a few who are vaccinated that are fed up with being told you can't do this and can't do even though they have followed guidelines.

I think the return to normal makes it almost impossible to go back now. Unless something catastrophic happens people won't comply.
The people happy with lockdowns and constantly being scared by figures aren't the ones you need to convince as they will comply regardless. You tell someone who is currently travelling the country to every game their team plays they can't go when they see the risk is minimal and they will this time push back as they don't see the risk to themselves as High enough to justify it.Tony Wilkinson and vladimir like this. -

For instance, my dad was taken in with covid but already had very high blood pressure. Whilst he was fighting the Covid he then had multiple strokes due to blood clots that the doctor said could have happened at any time.
The point is, that there was more than one reason (one being covid) on the death certificate but potentially just one or possibly all of them combined were the actual cause of death.Aaron Baker and Storck like this. -

I've said from the start we should have tested everyone on entry to hospital and isolated them until the test came back, then transferred all covid positive people to special hospitals.
I guess that's a perfect world scenario and we don't live in a perfect world.Stop hovering to collapse... Click to collapse... Hover to expand... Click to expand... -

Advisory in concourse area if not drinking and visits to the loo, however, they will not be enforcing it.

Actually making social distancing an actual thing people as much as possible, being careful of where you cough/sneeze, regularly washing/antibacing our hands, wearing masks in public to reduce all air born illness spreading and the likes could all have had real benefits to the world beyond covid but no people have just gone back to being selfish little pricks.
And as I've said elsewhere this isn't even the big one that we have seen scientists warn off for decades. COVID's fatality rate while fairly high in total numbers is simply down to how infectious it is, percentage-wise deaths are low. The one they have warned about is one that has this kind of infection rate BUT the fatality rate of something like Ebola and rather than this making us more prepared for it we have gone back to square oneStop hovering to collapse... I also wore a mask throughout yesterday's match. I also had to deal with a return trip that involved a bus, 5 trains and a taxi, all of which I was fully masked for. I also stuck to drinking outside at my pre-match pub of choice.
I fully accept that at some point I will come into contact with the virus (I may already have done so), especially if I want to get back to some sort of normality, so my strategy now is to focus on protecting myself as much as possible, by being fully vaccinated and by wearing high grade (FFP3) masks in higher risk scenarios.
Being sat in your seat, watching the match, is not particularly high risk, as there was/is a good circulation of air in what is, essentially, an outdoor environment. Even so, I chose to wear a mask whilst watching the match.
Rightly or wrongly (depending on your point of view) the government have handed responsibility back to the individual and it is now down to each individual to decide for themselves what level of protection they choose to have. No level of protection will be a 100% guarantee that you won't catch the virus, just as some who take no precautions may escape the virus but, for me, it seems sensible to at least take a few simple measures to improve my chances of not picking the virus up.
I won't be up for Tuesday's match, but that is to do with travel difficulties, rather than COVID. I am planning to be at the subsequent matches though, starting with Mansfield on Saturday.Stop hovering to collapse... Click to collapse... Hover to expand... Just becomes something reduces risk for others from what is a small percentage risk by another, unspecified, marginal factor doesn't mean it has to be done. We don't have to completely eradicate risk as long as everyone knows what they're getting themselves into. That's especially true when the other person isn't completely eradicating their own risk anyway....in this instance by putting themselves into a large group of people, travelling, etc, etc.Rogered Tart likes this. -
Anyway, great to be back at a rocking VP yesterday. The fans were great, certainly in the NW Corner where we are.
Football wise, I thought Evans did well in the middle but our lack of composure in rare periods of possession was concerning. I liked the look of Angol although there were elements of luck and generous goalkeeping about his goals.
Can't wait to see Songo'o start. We really have missed someone like him for a very long time.Rogered Tart likes this.
