    Not long after Covid-19 was brought to our attention and how serious it could be I heard a story about a man who's wife had passed with this virus and once she left the family home the next time he saw her was in a mortuary, the guy must have been devastated.

    It’s expected Deaths will be higher in the uk tomorrow due to deaths in the community being included. Does that mean people who have died at home?

    I've heard that your Pres has indicated that your Covid19 crisis will be over by Easter. Great Easter, great Easter!

    Edit - He's now changed it to the end of April. And as he said 'That will be a beautiful timeline' .. whatever that might mean!

    How do Australia's figures compare to European countries including our own? What about compared to other countries such as Singapore, S Korea and Taiwan who are all considered to be ahead of the game?

    Australia has a population of 24m and a land mass of 7.6m square kilometres.

    The UK population is 66m with a land mass of 250,000 km2

    Do you reckon that might have any bearing on the spread of an infectious disease?

    EDIT - i’ve Just checked. We have 724 people per square mile of land mass. Australia has 9.

    Relative to land mass, we’re one of the most densely populated countries in the world. More so than China, the US, Russia, Spain, Italy, way more than Australia.

    You might want to bear that in mind in terms of the measures we’re having to take to control the spread of a highly infectious disease. Not all countries take the same approach for a number of reasons. It’s not a one size fits all approach.

    The Uk and US didn't take it seriously and now we pay for it.

    After all this an inquest is required into the government and China certainly needs to brought to task.

    I'll be using Boris's letter as toilet roll when it arrives.

    All to try to turn us blue when the truth is they failed the country and put life's at risk. Plenty will die now and lose their jobs.

    If you want to inform yourself about the lack of Govt preparedness for something like this, have a search for Exercise Cygnus which was carried out a few years ago and coordinatedby the Dept of Health. Unfortunately the detailed conclusions from the published report were kept secret and never shared with Parliament let alone with the plebs. It did however indicate that in the event of a flu pandemic, ICU facilities and shortfalls in the number of ventilators would be a serious problem as would PPE for hospital and other staff. One conclusion was to establish a strategic stock of these things for use only in the event of a pandemic. As we now know, that wasn't fully implemented. Does any of this sound familiar? The lessons were there to be learned but we didn't.

    problem with the second figure is we are just starting to expand the number of tests done, so more positives will be expected
