Back on topic.... good to see measures brought in to support the self employed. The reality, sadly, as Sunak has said is that it won't be possible to save every business and every job.

 

She has a view and is campaigning for it, breaking no laws and probably never will. We get you don’t like her but all the things you have called her is because you probably couldn’t argue for something like she can.

All those “cooking the books” and declaring enough to not pay NI and tax will fall foul of the new grant.
Nothing until June? It’s going to be a long 6 weeks for some. Can see people still working

 

Doesn't anybody put something aside for emergencies or does everybody have to spend it as fast as they earn it...?

 

Think some recent self employed are probably living hand to mouth to get their business off the ground for example?
but as you say a lot don’t think further than the next pay check. No rainy day funds any more

 

My daughter's dad is one of them that had always fibbed about his self employed income. No doubt he'll now stop the £8 a week maintenance.

non essential work still going on ,on a mass scale . Warehouses open , building sites etc.
I Carnt take time off or claim the 80 percent because my company is still operating even though the work is not key or essential . Until they change there tune numbers will keep rising

 

We are walking blindly it seems into Italy and Spain’s situation and no one seems to really care.

Not possible for everyone unfortunately. A bit of advice I got when younger (from someone who paid knack all for his house and could afford it with a very normal job and without his wife working) was to always have 3 months worth of wages tucked away for just in case. Never managed it in my life. Never been anywhere near able to manage that and I've got an excellent salary.

The world is an expensive place for my generation.

 

You make her sound like a leader of religion. They all seem to do ok and get nothing of the backlash she seems to generate on twitter, from a lot of the time, weird middle aged men

 

Nobody watch the commercials there? Save it for a rainy day? In England? Do you need a new collection of cashmere sweaters?

 

Many will have savings but savings are for children and their future.

Investment is a different question.
