Firstly I hope you are OK. I'm really surprised you are expected back. We have made it clear to our staff that if they test positive we expect them to isolate. Different philosophies I guess

Same here. Our policy is, if you have symptoms of any infectious illness, stay at home until you feel well. Easy for us though, as all our employees are able to work from home.

I was surprised at the announcement. Until now they were very strict on all the COVID rules.

I haven't gone in today. Although I feel OK, I don't feel well enough to be in the office. I also feel a personal responsibility to my colleagues despite the company policy.

You got pinged. What are the chances of being in range of someone with that app these days.

My other half has been feeling unwell for a couple of days. She had an LFT yesterday morning about 9.00 which proved positive. She went online, booked a pcr test at a local testing centre for early afternoon yesterday and received her test result about lunchtime today. She is now isolating.

I don't know if that was typical but it was a great turnaround imo.

we got our results back over night which meant I could go to work as normal today. Due to NHS rules I had to wait for the PCR result before dispensing

yep. Case numbers are up again but as long as it doesnt cause issues then the case numbers don’t really matter. Control hospital admissions and deaths and it is fine

We are in the cycle of waning booster protection.

Cases have suddenly started going back up when we ticked over 3 months since many people took a booster jab. The push for boosters happened early December and we we are mid March.

This cycle will just continue in a loop so if we aren't going to booster jab everyone every 3 months we are just going to live with it.

I believe the government have started to roll out the booster jabs to the vulnerable, where as they were going to introduce boosted jabs at the end of spring.

    Plus all restrictions have gone.

not that it matters because give it another few weeks when there is no testing the figures will drop

Numbers in ICU beds continue to fall, but there is a worrying rise in numbers in hospital cases which, of course, impacts on other healthcare.

Regarding another round of boosters (and quite likely again in the autumn/winter), there are two reasons for optimism. Fisrtly, the impact of the jabs is likely to be cumulative, that is the length of protection will (hopefully) increase with each successive jab. And secondly, a second round of vaccines will be available shortly, which more specifically target Omicron. The latter, of course, depends on no new, more virulent, variant establishing itself.

Numpties. The rates is Scotland are twice the rates here in England, the testing like for like is higher in England.

So Scotland are getting more cases off fewer tests and that is with masks in place. So it makes sense to continue with this strategy because it's working so well.

You just knew Krankie would drag this out as long as possible.

Today the number of cases reported, not by date of test, was the highest ever, almost quarter of a million
