There is a comparable to 1930s Germany with what’s playing out here and it’d be easy to dismiss. Lets start with branding the ‘undesirables’ (i.e. the unvaccinated) and marginalise them from society. Unable to use various services and businesses for reasons of public interest and health. And where do we go from there? Well, they’re an ongoing threat and menace to the health of the wider public aren’t they, so lets decide where they’re allowed to live. Lets centralise them into populous areas that contain the threat. Want your child to get an education? Not without the jab!

That may seem like an exaggeration to some, but its a very, very slippery slope. And the ending can be very, very dark.

If you’d spoken to someone back in early 2019 about the level of controls and restrictions we’ve seen come into play, you’d have been dismissed as a conspiracy loon.

You participate in society, if you do not accept society's rules then society wont participate with you.

The rules aren't always right. Maybe the unvaccinated should stand up and let vaccinated people sit down on a bus like in 1960s America.

I prefer the idea of living in a free democracy where everyone is allowed to make their own choices, within the bounds of whats legal. And the law is subject to rigourous, cross party challenge and held accountable by a fully informed voter.

    A dream, I know.

He would have been hard pushed to develop symptoms, book a test, drive to Hull or York, have a test and get a result between us leaving him at 10am on Friday and me being pinged in the early hours of Sunday.

There is a very high chance it was the hotel in Hull so basically I was pinged for someone who was in a 300 bed hotel at the same time as me having tested positive. I don't even think I checked into the pub because we were sat outside all night with table service.

If it was him, then I was pinged because I had been at the same location as him, not because I came into contact with him because the track and trace app doesn't know if I've been within 1metre or 100metres of hi, and that's the stupidity of it.

I've done around 10 LFT and entered them all into the NHS system. They don't show up on the Covid passport and neither do the two PCR tests I've had. All have been negative.

I understand some believe that the covid passport would be the start towards a national id system. I don't agree with that, You might recall that Tony Blair passed legislation in Parliament for a national id card. It was opposed by the other parties, by human rights organisations, by trades unions, by security experts, by IT experts and many others. The result was it became a voluntary system with around 1 million signing up for it before Labour lost power. It was one of the first pieces of legislation repealed by Cameron when he became PM.

There is no way 10 years on that a Conservative Govt would anything of the kind. Imo Covid passports are a clumsy attempt by the Govt to encourage more people to take up the vaccines and get more of the population jabbed.

Why would they not want to have the jab?

What percentage of the population need to be jabbed?

As it stands we are at 87.5% of adults with at least one jab and 66.5% on two jabs. The difference between the two is likely to be that those who have had their first jab will be in the 8 week waiting period for their second, not that they are not going to take it.

Before people start pointing that 87.5% of adults is only about 70% of the population, well that comparison isn't fair when there is no vaccination of under 18s so by default they will be unjabbed.

So 87.5% of all people offered the jab have take it. That is way beyond what was expected at the start, so why we are still harping on about Covid Passports with such a huge take up of the vaccine baffles me.

So we are looking at 12.5% of all adults who either through choice or personal circumstances haven't take the jab. The narrative still seems to be strong on these adults that these are a problem, these are the issue, when realistically this far lower than all estimates at the start for takeup.

Personal choice and personal risk. With an 87.5% current take up on vaccines in the UK what frightens you about mixing with unvaccinated 12.5% of Adults?

Nah, I’ll just frequent the establishments that don’t need to see my medical records before selling me a pint. Civil liberties matter to me. Independent choice of medical treatments matter to me. They clearly don’t matter to everyone.

    No. Facism.

‘authoritarian ultranationalism characterized by dictatorial power, forcible suppression of opposition, and strong regimentation of society and of the economy, which came to prominence in early 20th-century Europe’.

There have been 250k cases in the last week. Some people are probably daft enough to think that all 250k of these cases are in unvaccinated people only, so having a covid passport will keep them free of contact from any of these people.

Meanwhile in reality people who are vaccinated still get the virus, they still pass the virus however their immune system has been helped to fight off the virus so if previously they would have been hospitalised, they will now just end up ill at home.

Cross party challenge? Where is it? A lot of the stuff written about the Tories is true but where is the challenge from any party. The only political party of civil freedom is the Tory party. Labour are a mess at the moment and I can't see that changing anytime soon. Then you have got the Lib Dems......!!!
It shows how poor the challenge from the opposition parties is when a political party led by the likes of Boris Johnson can get elected in the first place.
If the Tories put restrictions on our movements it will always be reluctantly.

Exactly. Positive case does not equal sick person by default.
