If I was No10 I’d just ignore him and just reply to the select committee directly

Matt Hancock is currently stood up in the House of Commons claiming that 3/5 of all people in hospital are people who haven't been offered the jab. When when he went to give an answer he painted it in the way that he said 1/5 of people in hospital had 2 jabs and 1/5 of people had one jab. I don't trust Hancock at all and I think he is massaging the figures as this has shifted from people who choose not to have the vaccine. As people under 30 are now having jabs are we supposed to believe hospitals are filling up with Under 30s?

 

That is what they've been saying for several weeks - that the Indian variant is causing many more younger people to be hospitalised than previous strains did.

 

Yet he won't release the figures to the MPs asking for them. Strange.
The death figures in the last 10 weeks are still heavily weighted towards those over 60.
You'll have to forgive me if I don't take the man who said there was no PPE shortage whilst NHS staff were wearing bin bags as being fully transparent.

 

From the data I can find from the NHS website, the age ranges are not as detailed as the deaths which are done in 5 year intervals.

There is a range of 18 to 54 which probably equates to 30m people in the UK. However the figure in this range are similar to what has been seen for months.

I'd like to take the health secretary at face value, but this is Matt Hancock we are talking about.

 

Not forgetting how track and trace would have us all back to normal within a couple of months and the non shortage of PPE

I didn't say that this is correct. I just said that it's what's been widely reported. I certainly wouldn't trust Hancock as far as I could throw him.

It’s interesting regarding the BBC reporting daily deaths, I have to admit I look myself everyday. Regardless of your thoughts on Covid it’s not paranoia to think it’s a type of propaganda to keep the fear of Covid there. It way be done for good reasons so people don’t get complacent but it’s reported for the purpose of keeping the public scared of the virus I have no doubts. The BBC should report flu deaths or cancer deaths everyday for a while see public reaction to it, because them figures are far higher than Covid deaths atm.

 

I'd be very interested to see stats on 'number of deaths within 28 days of receiving vaccine jab' but that information is nowhere to be had.
