I can fully understand. I know they say it's a handful out of a few million but they have moved specifically on the Under 30s. How many under 30s have actually had access to the vaccine? If the problem is there then it's from a fairly small pool of people due to the way the vaccine has been rolled out.

Not for me they're not, if you do the maths based on age and the fact I have no underlying health conditions. I'd definitely refuse the AZ vaccine now, especially given there are other, apparently safer jabs available.

So in a few weeks we have gone from ridiculing France and Germany from stopping the AZ vaccine on some age groups and saying there is no evidence of blood clots.

To stopping the AZ in the under 30s and confirming that there is evidence of blood clots.

For a 35 year old there is a higher chance of being killed in a road traffic accident, but I guess the risk is deemed low enough to still get in a car.

Not really suprised, it's basically like taking the card that Marge Gives Homer in the The Simpsons saying "Always do the opposite of what Bart says" replacing Boris for Bart.

Not sure. Tests and trials are still ongoing so I'd probably wait until more info is available, including Moderna.

I certainly wouldn't be allowing my young children to be given any of them any time soon.

Not sure you are given the choice unless you know different ??
Am 60 this year and have been undecided about having the vaccine at all
It's only a matter of time before Pfizer vaccine side effects become apparent
How many 30 year olds have had the jab (not many) to base the latest decision on
    It's certainly a changing situation

If they are withdrawing AZ from under 30 then the next default would be Pfizer but that has a clotting risk too.

You can chose which not to have.

They tell you which one you're getting when you're there and if they don't they have to tell you if you ask. If you don't want a particular vaccine for whatever reason you can then refuse it.

Thanks for that Drs couldn't/wouldn't tell me which it was they wanted me to have
Apparently at one time France and Germany said not to give the AZ version to the elderly :unsure:

As far as I understand it the reason the cut off point for stopping them is 30 is because lower than that the risk of seriously disease with covid is lower than the risk from the vaccine. Anything above 30 and its the other way around. Around the margins the risk will be close though.

The risk of both I tiny. This is a test of the media to see if they can explain the implications calmly without causing panic. I'm probably more likely to die from holding my breathe waiting for that to happen!

Which is why waiting for everyone to get vaccinated is just so wrong for vaccine passports.

I think it mainly depends on where you have the jab. For example, most pop-up vaccine centres will give the AZ vaccine due to the fact it's much easier to transport and store.

The AZ vaccine has never been recommended for under 18s in this country, with many vulnerable teens having to wait longer due to low supplies of the Pfizer vax. Like you say, some EU countries said AZ was not suitable for the elderly yet now they say it's ONLY suitable for the elderly.

The fact is that nobody knows the longer term side effects of any of these vaccines because of the speed they were developed and approved.

I'll just point out I'm not an anti-vaxer. I have no doubt that these vaccines have saved tens of thousands of lives in the UK alone.

It should say it on the card given to you when you book in when getting your vaccine. They might not be able to tell you in advance due to supply issues but on the day they should

There were three slides produced yesterday that showed the risk levels at low, medium and high levels of the virus circulating. This is the medium one:

It is clear that there is alot of scaremongering going on. this is the model released for after stage 4 of lockdown.

We are led to believe it could potentially see more people in hospital even with 60-70% of the population vaccinated during the summer months. It's time to sack sage off. We had no vaccines last year, we had no real travel restrictions last year and during the summer months Bradford was deemed high risk with a level of under 50 per 100k of infections.

It's all worst case doomsday predictions.

My Mrs has just been sent her contract for a new job that she has been offered. Part of the contract says that she has to have the COVID jab if NHS offer her it.
