Possibly a tiny amount, possibly a bit more, but if the virus takes off it can increase quickly.

Yes, correct. It's about risk reduction, not elimination.

Let's see if Boris gives us any detail, after the match, about where the government is heading with this.

And I think that's the key. If it was elimination then its worth it but what looks to be a tiny reductions not so much.

If you don't need a vaccine passport to enter a pub, will the people vaccinated avoid them as not to mix with the unvaccinated.

If that answer is no then why is a vaccine passport required at all?

did it say that in the instructions about the small sample? Seems weird that it would give a negative when a sample not big enough for analysis usually gives an invalid result as the test can not be run

To clear this all up I opened a test that are given out by the NHS. I ran the test without taking the swab and then applied the test mixture to the test.

The control line showed up to prove the test worked and obviously the test came back negative as there was no sample.

So the test looks for the virus and nothing else.

Hope that clears everything up, so we can have full confidence in these two tests people will be taking every week.

The tests are all the same are they not? A C and a T. A line only next to the C is a negative result. Lines next to the C and T are positive. No lines or a line only next to the T are a void result.

From my understanding the whole teaching staff have been doing these tests for months and there hasn't been a single void result.

yep. My question was about what generated a void. Was it such things as too small a sample or just if the ‘machine’ failed.

From my understanding it's an equipment failure. Testing a clean, unused swab would give a negative result not a void result.

to be honest I’m more used to deal with PCR testing and with that if there isn’t a large enough sample an invalid result would be returned

The "I'm okay Jack" attitude from some on here about the needless coercion to take the vaccine - especially without any solid evidence that passports have measurable benefit has really surprised me. Its very strange.

That press conference was a complete waste of time. Learnt nothing at all from Johnson today.

It's amazing how quickly some have forgot that people at low risk followed the lockdown to protect those at high risk.
I'm glad my kids missed nearly a year of school just so the vulnerable can have the theatre to themselves.

There are people with genuine concerns about the side effects and possible unknown long term issues from taking the vaccine. There are also those who will not take the vaccine on religious grounds. There are those who do not want their D.N.A. kept on government files. There are a host of genuine, valid reasons for not wanting tests or a vaccine and those people should not be discriminated against because of their choice or beliefs.

I see Boris confirmed that for the openings on the 12th April and for the 17th May that there will be no vaccine passports so basically the vaccinated and unvaccinated will be able to use pubs, restaurants, gyms, etc.

I can only presume that those so in favour of vaccine passports won't be visiting any of these places during this time incase they come into contact with an unvaccinated person.

    Here's a thought.

Vaccinated people saying they will only share a public space with someone else who has been vaccinated, can't have too much faith in their vaccine.
