CONFIRMED Greg Abbott leaving

Wish him nothing but the best, his time as a coach here in these last few months was a shambles, as was his head of recruitment role within the club, except a few early finds. But he's given a hell of a lot of his time to this club over the years and deserves nothing but respect, it's a positive move for the club imo, but long term might be for him as well not working with Rahic.

 

Great news. Good luck for the future but, enough's, enough.

 

I loved him during his time as a player, and I wish him well for the future, especially with his health. However, it's clearly best for Hopkin and the club that he is released, as he has failed both as head of recruitment and assistant coach.
Just hope the rumours that his mate Rahic is on his bike too

His time here as head of recruitment was abysmal and one signing out of 4 windows that was worthy of any note, shows that.

I mentioned it as this will go towards the cub's increasing debt, along with collins wage and the pitch with little in incoming funds from transfers.
Debt up from 0.7 million to approx 1.4- sure to get rupp's attention.

 

Well, if both parties agree to long contracts and one wants to break the contract there are implications.....

 

I've stuck up for Greg a bit as I think he's definately been undermined by Rahic in terms of the targets he wanted to sign. However facts are facts and too many shite players have been signed under him. Also if Hopkin is in control of transfers then his position is redundant.

hopefully the next head of recruitment will actually answer the phone to people who have players they know of that will add to the quality of the squad and not be so hell bent on only bringing in players that he has spotted.

 

So this will be the talk of the boards and twitter for the next few days. Wonder if it is from the same source that said Hopkin was leaving the other week.
