Cowley’s take on yesterday’s draw.

I listened to his interview and thought he came across well. I'm not sure the players have the skill levels he thinks but bar that i think his analysis was spot on.

 

How does it price out families? I’m not suggesting kids prices would increase or that families would buy a 5 year ST.
£300 is a fair price imo and only incurs a £20 per month increase on current prices if 2 adults in the same family buy one.

 

He comes across a bit creepy? To me they were individually and collectively poor. He’s having himself on . It was amusing near the end they brought this lad on, he was huge in every way, I thought Akinfenwa had retired? . I listened to one interview earlier in the week and it’s all to do with set pieces , the rest of the game seems irrelevant? Backs against the wall for 90 and nick something at the other end. That seems to be his mojo.

My take on the game? I can see what he wants to achieve but has neither the players or the self belief in the current ones to do it. You need a dominant midfield to play out the back and they only looked comfortable after Wilkinson came on, for me the reason they looked the better side in the second half. Like us i think he needs a couple of transfer windows before he can implement his style, its not like MK Dons where they had the players to play a certain passing style which suits Mike Williamson.
Comparing them with us in this game, they weren't any worse and a draw was a fair result. His point on set pieces is a good one, at this level where technique usually goes at the expense of physicality, i think a good set piece taker can be the difference between mid table and playoffs. I don't think it would get you automatically promoted but i remember Parky using corners to great effect.

We had the players to play the game properly as well under Parky. Yes it will take two windows for any new manager.

 

I also thought it was the retired fella. Massive unit. Someone did bounce off him about 5 mins after he came on.
