Talking about the club being unprofessional, you should see the state of the pitch down at City. As it stands today, large bald areas and if it's not growing/grown by now it's not going to, worse pitch in Bradford.

If I was a betting man I think we’ll be flooded with news next Thursday / Friday. Fixtures released and all of the new coaching staff being revealed......followed by the new kit being revealed the following Friday and new shop opening on Saturday 6th July.

But I don’t bet......

Poor decision, and I am sure Bowyer is not happy about that. As BoingBoing aludes to, i would rather bring in an assistant of Bowyer's choice, rather than have offered contracts to Devine and Colville if its a case of finances.

First bit of negative news from City this summer

 

Bowyer is nobodys fool he's says "We have to cut our cloth accordingly following relegation. I fully understand that. At this stage we are going with what we have got." to me the telling part is highlighted, Drury is his number 2 in everything but name, he is going to address the keeper coach situation, performance coach Ben Nicholson will still be involved.
Of course he would like a full backroom staff be he realises what the situation is and for now he's OK with it.

 

I was one of them, I've posted my thoughts above. At the time I had no idea that we wouldn't appoint a new number two and neither did you!

 

Of course you can ask the question.

We all know in football that you let a manager bring in his own backroom staff. Would you agree @wetherbywhaler?

I'm sure Drury is a good coach but like many of last season Wright, O'Connor etc he is seen as let down by the fans.

Worried by this. Let Bowyer have the team he wants.

 

It may be that, Bowyer was asked and he stated he'd rather put the money on to the field, and he was happy with what he had, ?? everyone seems to think he had no say in this ??

 

Because I have eyes and ears and more and more recently I've learnt to trust them and not believe everything I read.

Would have thought it fairly evident that the difference is we're signing players with and by a coach in place and last season we didn't. (with disastrous results)

 

Oh dear. Always a sting in the tail. Bring in loads of young players but don’t have the staff to coach them. Genius. This club never ceases to amaze. When the going gets tough, Bowyer could walk. Rupp calls himself a business man. Incredible.

 

Another case of the lack of information coming out of the club, or actions being different to words. Remember the fans forum that some ‘media’ were recently invited to? Didn’t they state that Todd leaving would not stop Bowyer bringing in his own backroom team? They made it clear that we were looking for help for Bowyer.

Yet today, Bowyer is quoted as saying “We have to cut our cloth accordingly following relegation”...! Mixed messages again.

Perhaps @Glenn Ackroyd could share some light on why we’re having a change of mind on this? Can he clarify why we are having to go with a failed coach with little experience, no assistant and no specialist fitness coach?

 

Who knows a cup run, or sell on fee may change our situation.

 

But you've no way of knowing how much or how little any individual member of the backroom staff is responsible for those results.
