Yeah, the club is still here, the ground is still here. The bigger the highs the bigger the lows i suppose. Administrations were bad, but as a football fan i live for the highs no matter how infrequent they are. Without Richmond coming in and doing what he did we would have just bummed around the lower divisions like another Oldham for 20 years.We'd have had a ground hardly worthy of the lower divisions as well. Look, the roller coaster came off the tracks with serious consequences. But i'll take that over decades of mediocrity.

We didn't lose the club. As far as i see no club has ever been lost due to admin although i am open to suggestions.Even clubs like Wimbledon come back, they're above us now. Richmond was a gambler but also the best visionary this club has ever had and will ever have. Went bat shit crazy a the end but more a victim of his own success. Easy to get carried away when playing with the big boys.

 

They might not have done but people lose jobs when companies go into admin, maybe not the club employees but the knock on effect a company going into admin in the supply chain and any creditors it may have is massive.

 

I agree, its not nice. Wouldn't make me change my mind though. The memories Richmond brought will live with me forever, memories of bumming round the khazi league won't.

My decision was based purely on the football, the consequences of admin clearly put a different emotive side to it.

 

Good thing for Richmond was he spent money and got it right and quick.

Trouble is if you don’t get it right and still spend a shed load of money you don’t really have, you have no memories and a club going into admin.

 

Best get rid of Junior asap then, he loves a good admin

 

Stafford was a good PR man, just didn't have the financial backing Richmond had with the Rhodes money.

 

He was an unbelievable good PR man not a Bradfordian but passionate about the club

 

Larger than life character, very approachable always time to talk football.

 

Some would say Richmond was unlucky as the admin was caused by the collapse of ITV digital who had promised a huge amount to the club and then failed and of course relegation which meant we had huge payments to players we could not afford, Liecester suffered the same fate on relegation and the FA /Premier league realised this would be the fate of most clubs if relegated from the premier league and introduced parachute payments to allow clubs to reduce overheads rather than go in to admin, If we had been relegated now under GBR we would have survived and even prospered,
BTW GBRs admin was due to relegation and bad luck, The next admin was due to poor running of the club.

 

The last bit is wrong the second admin was because the terms of the first made it impossible to function they might have stumbled along the outcome was inevitable

 

I think if you ask Gorden Gibb he will tell you different as he claims it was done unnecessary and cost him millions of pounds and was done only to allow Rhodes to take full control at the creditors expense, Even then he used the money raised by fans and the people of Bradford to save the club to buy it back for himself.

 

Agree I believe that was the reason for the big fall out, Gibb believes Juilan screwed him unnesasarly, to gain control of the club, it was very touch and go during the second admin.

 

Gibb wanted to soldier on as we were in very difficult circumstances commendable from the creditors point of view but crippling the club
