Club Suggestions Thread

Why not have an open day at the stadium with stalls, players, ex players and manager etc to launch the new kit which will be on sale with other City goods along with food and music to make a day of it,

 

We had an open day last year didn’t we? Just before Wyke left

 

Are we not allowed another?

 

Wasn’t saying we shouldn’t. Was more of a question as couldn’t quite remember if we did or not?

Point being if we organised one last year, sure we can this season

We plan to hold a family open day.

The date is likely to be in August and will be confirmed nearer the time.

The new kit will be launched ahead of this date.

 

To update on this;

We'll be holding fans event at the club late summer, but before the season starts. Fans can submit questions to the club and management. This will be open to all. Date TBC

Supporters clubs will be holding their own events to which Gary/players will attend.

Good to see you are looking at a fan zone I think it would go down well

 

Location will be a big factor. People moan when it is suggested they take a slight detour to avoid certain stairs so I can imagine those that don’t walk on Midland Road moaning if it is there and vice versa.

 

Oh please.. fans ask the club to do something, they say they will, then que the negative comments come before the club can get it off the ground. There is very little room around the ground so it will be where they can put it, and fans will enjoy the experience!

 

Oh please. I’m just stating what has happened in the past when people have been asked to walk an extra 50 yards never mind right round the ground. There is very little room near the ground, in fact I can not think of any space that is useable unless they use Midland Road itself which would need permission off the council.

Sorry if in your reality people will not complain it is too far away, or on the wrong side of the ground but reading previous comments on here and other forum that is what will happen, or it will be too expensive.

 

I just think we need to support the club at a time when they are listening to suggestions without pouring cold water on it! I am fully aware of the grounds limitations, no doubt thinking outside of the box will be necessary. They could use some of the car park, or maybe ask businesses around the club might be prepared to lease or sell a bit of land, or at the side of the new shop, etc etc. It is limited, but thinking fans will moan before a bat is struck is super negative, even if it is based on previous consultations. This is for fans pleasure, I don’t care where it is sited I will be there provided, drink, food and music is good.

 

Good luck with that, The season usually starts first week in August, Talk about after the horse has bolted, It needs to be in the summer feeding on and building expectation for the new season, Do we have no one with any commercial nous at the club?

 

Yep but they are on holiday in June and July

 

They have said they are looking into so don't start making plans yet. The people with the catering contract have already tried it elsewhere and it didn’t make money. They will need to give permission before it happens so if it does happen it will have cost the club so hopefully all those calling for it support it wholeheartedly

 

We have the time between now and the start of the season to sell the arse out of this club. Its not over now just because the season ticket deadline has gone. Get the social media ramped up a few levels, get family open days on as soon as possible, tell people whats going on down at the club, market the hell out of it. Make a big deal of the shirt reveals, get deals going if you multi buy them. So much this club can be doing to put the clubs name forward.

How long is their contract, because I would bin them in a breath! Poor quality expensive food, likewise with drinks.

We should get caterers in who actually know about food supplying good quality food and drink. I don’t mind paying a premium but I want it to go to the club. Many years ago we used to skip lunch at home get to the ground have a drink and Cornish pasty, it was really good, good filling tasty, and good pastry. I have seen what is on offer now, gloppy crap, and soggy pastry. Get it right and it will sell

Really?? Well I suppose it depends whether your respect your fans or not! Cheap and nasty will not make money, good quality food most definitely will.
