Don't think Oduor will play LB and not arsed about Foulds because he isn't good enough either. Ridehalgh is fine for a lower level L2 side but not for us, we need better.

 

Not sure your reasoning putting East in the hit list. Barely played, when he did get minutes, he was sound enough, but the jury is very much out for me and wouldn't be too bothered if he were moved on this summer.

Harsh on Chapman too. I thought he did reasonably well playing out of position more centrally, when he played in his favoured wide position I thought he did well, and we certainly missed him for the final few games after his injury.

 

Moxon had barely done much of anything in Scottish League Two for a few years before Carlisle signed him, and he had a great season and got them promoted. 6 goals and 15 assists from midfield. Our fans would have had a meltdown if we signed a 24 year old who's just spent 4 years at Annan Athletic.

You're not going to sign proven young talent, for free, in League Two - it's always going to be a bit of a gamble regarding potential. I don't have an issue with this signing at all.

Some people seem to want pacey, exciting players, full of stamina, with a proven record. Are you going to sign that in League Two? If they've got a proven record they're most likely going to be aging players like Smallwood, Donaldson, Clayton who's legs are long gone - which was one the major complaints this season. People wanted Gilliead signed up just for the fact that he could run, that ticks 1 of the 4 criteria.

If they've got all that and are young players, they'll be signed up pretty quickly to clubs higher up the pyramid.

Look, it's irrelevant who we sign. Wrexham have already been declared league two champions by the press, their fans and two Hollywood superstars. We might as well not bother.

 

One of the things we lacked last season was the odd player who could take someone on and beat a man.

You simply have to have a couple, even if you're a short passing side.

Stylistically, the lad could suit us.

 

Happy with this. It's not a marquee signing by any stretch of the imagination, but it's a young prospect, who looks to play exciting football, and has presumably been signed on lowish wages. Hopefully Hughes and team can develop them.

 

I think Critchlow and Aygei are possibly done. Think we may try for Wright.

 

Having a bit of a read up on him, sounds like he has the tools to be a threat going forward, just no clue how to deliver on his promise.

Sounds like he has bags of pace though. But his last spell he had 6 games at LWB, 3 at RWB, 2 on left wing, 1 right wing, 1 at centre back and 1 as an attacking mid. Playing everywhere can't exactly help a lad deliver consistently.

 

The people calling it underwhelming are making my day. Let’s face, who’s heard of him?
He’s going to offer competition for places and he sounds versatile which is always good.
A 3 year deal seems odd but he’s 23 so a good age to tie down if he shows his potential next season.

 

I assume we just copy and paste contract templates and keep forgetting the change the 3 years…
Bit underwhelming but played in the championship a bit earlier in his career and is young. a wait and see signing for me

I'm actually ok with this signing. Clearly has ability based on his championship days but question marks based on his recent outings...

I guess , I envisage fourth tier/lower third tier signings , so I'm not overly expecting signings from a higher standard.

That's a ridiculous range of positions for a young lad to be expected to fill and also develop. Seems like bad management to me, regardless of whether they believe it's just to try and find his best position.

 

And just a couple of years earlier the same people were asking 2+million for him
