I had actually thought the ref was much better yesterday. Got the red cards right. Was consistent. The Donaldson overruled goal came from 4th official by the look of it. I didn’t think that was allowed. The ref and lino gave it.
I question the reckless BRE tackle. That nearly gave Carlisle a way back into the game. Whether their lad made a meal of it or not it looked really bad from the kop.

 

It was Connolly who 'ran the show'. Best wingers display since we had Mark Marshall.

 

Enjoyable game yesterday, easily the most entertaining of the 4 games I’ve seen this season. We were 2nd best up until the equaliser and then obviously the sending off helped. From then as you’d expect total domination until BRE’s absolutely ridiculous challenge. Don’t understand why he got applauded off, he was a fkin idiot. It wasn’t rocket science that the ref would use an opportunity to send one of ours off. The goal not being given for “handball” also a joke.

One of those games where we should have won 5/6-1 but somehow we still manage to feel like we’re clinging on. I hold BRE responsible for that.

On another note, isn’t it about time either the black netting on the front rows came back or more stewards were positioned in front of the kop to stop the chavs invading the pitch. Celebrating goals with a pitch invasion vs the likes of Northampton and Carlisle is plain fkin embarrassing. It’s only a matter of time until something silly happens with an opposition player if it does continue as there isn’t much of a brain cell count amongst them. And before I get some “Bantams family” comment from one of the chavs it’s nowt to do with Bantams family, I just don’t like w4nkers on the pitch. Maybe @wetherbywhaler can give his thoughts?

I don't like it and it needs addressing. I would bill the whole bottom 5 rows of that Koop section. Make them pay more including the adults. Yes, i am a w4nker!

I was there WW and it was right in front of me. I would tell Gary not to bother wasting anyone's time in appealing

 

Yet the first 10 minutes we were all over them it was once they scored we had 10 poor minutes

 

Just watching west ham v man utd and Mark Noble has made a challenge near identical to BRE yesterday, in fact Nobles was worse as he was very high yet only got a booking even with VAR. I think it's worth an appeal in all honesty.

 

I agree. It should have been a penalty. Ruling out the "goal" seemed to mean the officials forgot about the "challenge" on Donaldson.

 

The deliberate element has been taken out now (to help VAR decisions), so you can accidentally touch the ball and not get booked but your goal is ruled out regardless, only problem in our case is Don touched it due to NKP ploughing into him from behind and that apparently is a foul against us!

 

One true wide man with one winger tucked in has been a recipe for success in the past as it gives cover to an outmanned centre mid area. Beagrie and Lawrence come to mind.

 

I've read match reports and looked at the stat's for both sides Steve ........ And each are similar in regards to 'Which side is going to turn up' ? City and Carlisle are both capable of getting a result, just as much as throwing one away.
My heart says a cautious 0 - 0, whilst my head says a sloppy game with a 3 - 2 Win for City. Make of that, as you will

I’d drop Donaldson but there is nobody else to hold the ball up top.

 

I'd make one change to that - Connolly to start instead of Ismail, with Ismail coming on from bench at about 65 mins depending on the game.

 

Card happy ref from the looks of him but at least he isn't a 1st year ref for the first time at VP this year I think?

They've changed to a flat back five in the last few weeks with 3 CM's protecting and only lost 1 in the last 5. Expect a frustrating day, either by whistle or camping in our half. From their highlights in those last few they look like they just wait for the counter, happy to sit back. Only 34% possession last week playing at home.
