I raised the issue in the original post. Since then we have had a lot of comments. One theme has been well if they can play the World Cup in Qatar!
Perhaps it would assist to read this article. Qatar is taking heat seriously.
“But even then temperatures are 24 degrees celsius and so Qatar have had to introduce measures to further cool their stadia for players and fans”. https://www.sportbible.com/football/qatars-eight-world-cup-stadiums-are-fully-air-conditioned-20220402

Thoughts with everyone at the is difficult time. Please remember to breath fresh air as in this warm weather there is a strong chance you may die if you stop breathing.

I was lucky the other day when I breathed in.
I had the BBC newsreader to tell me to breathe out.
    Phew.

If the match is inside then and it rains will the players not get wet?

    Excuse me:joy:

I’ve travelled the world and been to far hotter than here even in a heat wave and the air conditioned buildings near by made no difference, they are designed to keep cool air in a building not blow it around a city. FYI I used to work in Shipley in an air conditioned building so maybe they’ll turn it on for the game and blow it down the valley to cool the players down…

The only person there’s no helping is you, I tried to keep it civil but you kept digging and talking more shit.

So where are all these air conditioned stadiums in main land Europe Ron, I’ve been to a fair few where players have played in plus 30 temperatures and never seen one. They’re spending a lot of money on that World Cup but it doesn’t mean it happens in other countries around the globe. Also in F1 drivers have 3 layers and drive in the Middle East for hours, this includes taking up to 5 G force, does the air con from nearby buildings some how save them? Lots of silly talk coming on here.

oh yes sorry Mr worldwide can't be offending you now!
I have also been around the world and I can tell you it makes a massive difference to the city.
I am not arguing whether the match should be played just the difference in climates and the fact that temperatures feel differently in different countries

To be fair, I've been in 39° heat in Valencia, that was bearable because it was a dry heat. When it gets that hot in UK, it's usually more humid and stifling.

However, should be fine after 7 in an evening. Nobody will be denied water, so no problem.

Most countries in Europe and indeed the world, that experience very hot temperatures, have developed their sport, stadiums and buildings to cope with regular excessive heat. This is a very unusual situation (record temperature are being forecast) in the UK, particularly the north of the country. The extreme heat needs to be factored in and the two clubs have a duty of care to the players and supporters. If they have appropriate contingencies in place, then fine.

I’m not offended you’re just talking rubbish, you’ve dropped air conditioning out of your argument now considering it’s an out door event so that’s a start to you making more sense at least…

So what do the main stadiums in Europe do then? Worth mentioning that Valley Parade will be totally in the shadow come 7pm so the players won’t be exposed to the sunlight, as it’s on a valley as well that helps with wind flow.

For the avoidance of doubt, I will repeat my final sentence. ‘If they have appropriate contingencies in place, then fine’.

Glad you’re starting to understand how geography works, maybe the local offices will turn their air con on to help as well. Happy days.
