I followed some of the match on the Sunderland fans forum thread because I thought there might be more updates than the T& A.
A classic comment towards the end of the match was that Bradford are more used to the heat because they are closer to the equator!!!!!

We did a lot of the little things right, movement off the ball, players using space, not dropping out of position. Actually shows what buying players who have stood out in positions and buying them to play that exact position. I've banged on here for too long about how football is position specific, it's why Halliday looks composed at right back. Because he is a right back. Smallwood is a defensive central midfielder, not an attacking midfielder shoehorned in because we couldn't be arsed buying a defensive one. Why it's taken us so long as a club to realise this basic fact I don't know but first time for a long time I feel enthusiastic about a team and it's management set up.

    Ridiculous post.

We're ok to play the world cup in Qatar but Sunderland can't play an evening friendly in Bradford?

I even had to check the date to make sure its not being played in April.

I will be fitting windows from Monday morning , all through the week 8am till 5pm. Not kicking a ball around at 7.45 pm for about an hour. We will be slapping on the sunscreen and drinking plenty of water or should the world just stop because its too hot. common sense needs to prevail, or have we lost this in the UK.

Simple solution: move it to Boundary Park.

I've never been there when it wasn't absolutely Baltic

Why will I be in for a shock? I've just come back from Corfu where it was mid 30s every day.

I just stayed in the shade and drunk plenty. It wasn't rocket science and contrary to popular opinion on here I never felt like there should be a nationwide heat emergency called.

I'm also off to Turkey in a few weeks where it will be just as hot for 10 days. I'm sure I'll be fine though, I'll keep you all updated.

Every player knew his job and our play was clear. No forward pass, start again-don't give it away.

Smallwood is class, dropping short creating space in behind.

Not getting carried away but boy is it refreshing to see us actually play with a real purpose and clear patterns of play.

Thoughts with everyone at the is difficult time. Please remember to breath fresh air as in this warm weather there is a strong chance you may die if you stop breathing.

We’re just a nation of pansies. When it snows all hell breaks loose. Scandinavians must laugh their tits off at us. Likewise here with equatorial nations and all of the panic due to the heat.

If some fans have issues in the heat then the advice has to be simple? Stay home in the shade and don’t go.

it’s like the crew who don’t want to run school sports day in case a kids gets sunburnt.

Well the MLS wallahs play here in ridiculous temps, plenty of fluid breaks though. At a lower level, high schools in Tennessee can play at any temperature up to 40 with mandated breaks every 20 mins. So far we have had 4 days above 38 and we are in a run of 25 days in excess of 32C.
The heat is only a part of the problem, the real damage is the humidity and the resulting heat index.
Hard to imagine Bradford at those temps. But seriously, without air conditioning it will not only be miserable, it will be dangerous. Stock up on ice and use it to make cool damp towels for cooling. Also, keep an eye on those people who might be susceptible to heat issues.

We should get all the cars in the car park to turn their air con on and pipe it into the stadium, thus keeping said players cool . That is if the grass on the pitch hasn't melted.

Well it was hot today, but me and my lads all survived our 8 hours in the sun. Plenty of water and sun block, lets hope those poor footballers can manage their hour tomorrow evening.

A few observations from tonight -
    Crichlow is a Rolls Royce
Platt didn't lose a header all night
    Foulds has improved.
The new right back is a step up on Hendrie
    Smallwood is different class
    Osadebe is quality
Young lad Wadsworth looks a very promising left back
    Oliver didn't lose a header
    Walker's pressing was superb

All in all, we looked excellent.
I had to check the Sunderland line up after the game. I thought they must have put a load of kids in.
They didn't. It was a team full of League 1/Championship players.

Hughes has built a resilient squad that can cope with injuries, suspensions and loss of form, It is quite a clever squad and am very optimistic for the coming season

It’s about a football match what’s air con got to do with anything? Whether you play the match at Camp Nou or Valley Parade there won’t be any air con so it’s irrelevant.
