I think plenty of water breaks and the players will be fine.

As for fans well its early evening so will be a bit cooler and temperatures will drop nicely during the game.

I would also assume that the welfare of supporters would be of paramount concern?

Is this the same World Cup which has been switched to winter because of regular high temperatures of 40 degrees C which was a huge concern to players and fans welfare?

The temperatures the teams will be playing in in Quatar will range between 20 and 30 degrees C. Quite a bit lower than this Tuesday's forecast.

Was is it such a ridiculous post?!

You don't think half of Europe, Africa, South America and some of the far east don't regularly play sports in temperatures higher than we'll experience in Bradford on Tuesday night?

Seriously, is this a wind up?

    Exactly.
Other countries have regular runs of weeks with high temperatures and subsequently the people in those countries adapt to it yet our politicians and our national and local broadcasters start talking to people like they are idiots because it’s going to be hot for 2 (two) days.

I trust that the club recognises that fans of both teams arriving at VP on Tues night should be allowed access with their plastic bottles of water. It would be quite immoral of the club in the hot weather to expect fans to buy their water at over inflated prices at the kiosks.

You are quoting a/c as being relevant to a game of football which you then claim is “hardly outside”
    Is it inside then?

I raised the issue in the original post. Since then we have had a lot of comments. One theme has been well if they can play the World Cup in Qatar!
Perhaps it would assist to read this article. Qatar is taking heat seriously.
“But even then temperatures are 24 degrees celsius and so Qatar have had to introduce measures to further cool their stadia for players and fans”. https://www.sportbible.com/football/qatars-eight-world-cup-stadiums-are-fully-air-conditioned-20220402

To be fair, I've been in 39° heat in Valencia, that was bearable because it was a dry heat. When it gets that hot in UK, it's usually more humid and stifling.

However, should be fine after 7 in an evening. Nobody will be denied water, so no problem.

Most countries in Europe and indeed the world, that experience very hot temperatures, have developed their sport, stadiums and buildings to cope with regular excessive heat. This is a very unusual situation (record temperature are being forecast) in the UK, particularly the north of the country. The extreme heat needs to be factored in and the two clubs have a duty of care to the players and supporters. If they have appropriate contingencies in place, then fine.

The only explanation that you all survived is that the near by buildings all had air con and turned it on for you.
