Who was here? I'm commenting on your last point. You're dreaming if you think we are playing promotion worthy stuff. Can't beat the dross of the league. Dropped 6 points in the last 3 games I've attended.

I think some of you have short memories when it comes to McCall's management stint.

Good brand of football, unbeaten at home in god knows how long, a whisker away from the Championship and got a squad consisting of Chicksen, Poleon, McCartan, Gilliead etc punching well above their weight. For obvious reasons (the Edin effect, budgets cuts etc)there would be valid excuses for not achieving half of what McCall did and if BlandBowyer was manager instead our fans will no doubt be making them.

No i'm firmly bowyer in. On sat we had our main two strikers out and yet manged 26 shots.. People are saying this isnt promotion form yet we we have won just under half our games... If we win on thurs we will match the same amount of wins as last season.
People are quick to forget how shit we were last season. Demand too much... We are the best performing team out of the 4 relegated sides.

More hoping rest bungle along cos they're worse than us ?

If we aspire to be a division one side then we need to be playing like one now, and yet clearly we're not...

Bingo Tony. Finally someone talking sense on here. We are in the playoffs blah blah blah. I'd dread to think what would happen next season if we scraped up under Bowyer. Luton prime example, played their way out of this league and went on to get promoted to the Championship. This team is miles away from challenging next year if the miracle happened and we got promoted under Bowyer.

Supply and demand. There are currently no vacancies available in the lower leagues but plenty of decent managers to choose from if and when one arises. It doesn't detract from what he did at City so not sure what your point is anyway?

I cant believe after all we've been through as a club and stuff that was posted about the goings on behind the scenes at Valley Parade you question that situation.
You say by one part of the ownership, with regards sacking the then manager that had to go through Rupp he was very much behind Rahic with regards sacking McCall after Wembley, Rupp is not without blame although he was conned by his expartner with regards the running of our club.

McCall was a great player for us both times he was here, unfortunatly his time here as manager could hardly be classed as sucsessful.
Unless we have a disastrous run between now and May Gary Bowyer will be our manager and I believe will deliver promotion for our club, some don't seem to want to accept the constant changing of manager chasing sucsess has not worked.

Gary Bowyer will not be sacked as manager of Bradford City. We can discuss the merits of it but it will not happen. They won't sack him even if we fail to go up although i would be in favour of that. Some have short memories of parkinsons reign, the football at regular times in league 2 wasn't any better than what Bowyer is currently serving up. This is how it goes, he should get this season to get promotion, then given a decent budget to have at promotion from league 1 with his own group of players. This is of course dependant on promotion this season.

Lack of season ticket sales and boring football with poor results will see him sacked. This is football mate. Managers get sacked!

Under Parky the cheap season tickets had only really started. The season tickets cheap prices are not a buzz now. We're around 6-4k down from when first started.

Also I believe we have the squad to go up this season and the owner will decide if Bowyer is the right man to take us up or not.

I think it's 50/50 if he stays at the moment. Keep saying we need to be top 3 come the end of the year.

Do you really think Rhodes and Rupp are weak business men? They will sack Bowyer if they need too.

    Why McCall?

Seriously, is that the depth of thinking in looking for a solution. That ain't (as yet) needed.

    Lazy.

I will guarantee you now as long as we have a chance of promotion that Bowyer is going nowhere, crazy to even think it would happen. I think there are pros and cons to the cheap tickets, its not as rosy as some think, but 14,000 crowds in league 2 is pretty much unheralded for the division. Remember historically we are quite regularly below 10,000 in most season in the lower leagues.
Don't forget the Rahic effect when it comes to this years squad, Bowyer still has his hands tied to an extent. As i've said if he fails this season he goes without a shadow of a doubt but at this moment we are still in it despite the dour football witnessed for most of the season. Look i'm not overly keen on Bowyer but sacking him now is a non starter.

I just can't fathom some. Bring Doyle back, play more exciting football, open the purse strings Rupp, bring McCall back et al.

Are some not realising this utopian concept of FOURTH DIVISION football may not achievable in the full entirety and that comprimise will be needed.

Over the last two seasons, I can tell you I was a rite miserable sod, damning of the football, the management and particularly that Twit Rahic. The self destruct button had been hit and the club was in bloody freefall, little stewardship and the toxicity at VP, was pungent. Anybody who frequents this board and knows me will very much agree!!!

That era is now in a period of recovery. A period of recovery, against a backdrop of financial upheaval within the football community which has seen one club go to the wall and the inevitably that others will follow.

We have a handy placed position in the league, a manager whom for his critics, has exceeded mine and quite a few others pre season expectations (to date), a positive outlook on new season tickets figures and an apparent stability off the field.

I remember @wetherbywhaler@wetherbywhaler comments regarding it could take up to 5 years to recover from the Rahic era. It's 13 months since he got the boot and things Imo are improving.

The aim surely will be to push on and see the season out with promotion. That's achievable, very much with Bowyer at the helm. He could be ousted as some suggest but at what cost? No guarantee of better results or promotion but a guarantee that a pay off to Bowyer would impact in the playing budget...

    Have a great day, all.
