I can't remember a season where we started poorly and gradually got worse as the season progressed, most knew we were down after the spanking at Barnsley, especially after a decent performance at Sunderland.

 

All hope had gone as soon as we saw Hopkin had completely changed what did us well at Sunderland, threw Paudie in at the deep end in a formation that never worked for us. Managers know best eh? Do you know what, quite a lot of the time they don't, they're as daft as you and me.

 

And get well paid for it.

 

Have ya seen Ancellotis 'tempster' (To Everton)? Apparently £11-5m per year !! Totally obscene in anyones book ? Give me Div four 'crap' any day of the week, rather than the well over priced PL !! (Christ - even Stoke with their £50m wage bill are finding it tough in the Championship.)

 

Unfortunately that is what top coaches/managers can command, as Everton are my second team I was hoping they might have tried to bring Mikel Arteta back to Goodison but it looks like he will be joining to Arsenal.

Problem is we've been blinded by the cheapest tickets in the land. When you look elsewhere its eye watering but i guess its what todays football in this country gets to charge when you are the most successful league in the world. That doesn't mean i agree with some of the obscene prices for things in football like shirts and some tickets but as i alluded to in another thread football is a business with a simple supply and demand philosophy. If it was being overpriced they wouldn't sell the product. As it is its never been as popular as it is now.

 

Genuinely interested in what @RonnieBrown considers a reasonable price to watch a PL team

What is the cheapest tickets at West ham? I'm sure i saw they were pretty reasonable for a season ticket in the premiership. Or was that just doing a Man City and trying to fill an oversize capacity?

£320 or £160 for us old boys.
The only problem is that if we ever get a cup run, lower cost ST bands aren't guaranteed a ticket if the away support take the max allocation.

Seems to work though with the numbers you're getting through the gate. have you warmed to the new place yet? Watching some old prem games recently and the games at the Boleyn really did bounce atmosphere wise.

It'll never be the Boleyn, but needs must. There was something about the old place that you couldn't replicate, same as most of the new stadia lack "atmosphere" compared to the grounds they replace.
However it's a pleasant change to have clean toilets, hot water etc.
