Hopkin sounded really pissed off with Chicksen on the pulse so hopefully he's dropped permanently.

 

Maybe - but if you watch teams they - when the opportunity arises - target the far post that chicksen is supposed to defend.

Hopefully Wood will listen and learn. Chicksen is showing little evidence of either. Give Wood a chance.

 

Pillar to post in the five minutes he was on. Doesn't bode well at all, and any manager has to focus on Wood in the coming games.

Going to be a very tough time, potentially, for young Conor.

 

Sat with the Chicksen fan club he was at fault for everything today.

Not the best left back we have ever had, but he is average like the rest. You would only keep 3 maybe 4 of these players and 3 of them are loaners.

You can only work with what you have got. But, wrong tactics and shape today.

 

Where did he play when he came on though Jon?

He's a kid who plays left back. Seems like DH uses his as a utility type player but let's not forget how well he played when DH first joined.

 

Wood didn't do anything wrong when he came on considering he was chucked into play somewhere in midfield when he's a full back.

 

Thought in recent weeks Chicksen has been slightly unfairly targeted as a scapegoat even when we have been winning games. Opinion after today has totally changed. Played awful today. Even 60/40 challenges in his favour he was losing every single one.

Hopefully Wood gets a run of games now as he's impressed before.

 

He should be pissed off with himself for not realising that Chicksen is complete utter rubbish!

 

He was certainly poor today but the problems were on the other side where, from halfway through the first half onwards, we were ripped to pieces. It's difficult to understand the thinking behind playing our tallest player out wide against a very big side, and having a debutant next to him who couldn't get into Blackpool's defence. Very disappointed today. Second best everywhere.

 

I think Hopkin probably thought he’d get the same as he got from Mellor playing out wide, hopefully cutting across and winning headers.

 

If Hopkin is reluctant to play wood at left back, stick NKP there, with O’Connor and McGowan at centre back. Caddis at right back.

 

If chicksen had done what there lad did and taken a booking for the team mid way in their half they wouldn't have got their second goal and the mountain wouldn't have been as big as it was at half time.
Also note the lad who ran him ragged and scored their first goal, Jacob Brown, another local lad, born in Halifax, played in Guiseley youth set up, not to be seen at BCAFC.
Just signed a new long term contract at Barnsley.

 

Don’t get me wrong, I’m not saying he has been good but the abuse Chickpea is getting on Twitter is awful, hope the poor bas*ard doesn’t read it, it would make more sense people giving Hopkin sh*t for picking him!

 

Suspended for 2 games after red card on Saturday.

 

Can we appeal and get it increased?

 

We all know Chicksen’s limitations, and I am sure he is aware of them as well. Surely we are better than this. Yes his performance on Saturday was poor, as the majority of this season. Do we have to continue to berate him. If he could do better then he would, he gives his all and yes I know it isn’t good enough. We have a number of players who are not versatile and do not adapt to change very well and he is one of them. Hopefully lessons have been learnt.

 

I could forgive his technical limitations if he didn't constantly bottle challenges. For me, this is not giving your all.

 

Does he give his all? The second goal the move down his side could've been prevented. Just in the build up to the start of the move, he let the lad just wander down the wing with the ball didn't attempt to get tight when he had him on the touchline. No attempt to tackle was just happy to dawdle along side him? Very strange decisions he makes and really don't think he does in my opinion.

 

Since November, Chicksen has played 14 games, losing 4. Is he as bad as people make out or is he a new scapegoat?
