This level of support is unparalleled in my time watching us. I don't even care if they give the tickets away for bugger all, getting 19,000 for a league 2 game is just crazy. Let's hope for once everyone who turns up gives their all to getting behind the team as our home support can be like a library at times.

As I posted he needs to look at our situation with a little more positivity, I'd say all league two and the majority of league one teams must envy our home attendances no matter about the cost, and that would even be envided by some Championship clubs, I just cant find anything to be negative about with a potential 20,000 plus attendance.

    Ticket Availability:

    Main Stand - 96 seats
    Kop - 198 seats
    Midland Road - 117 seats
    NWC - 618 seats

    Total - 1,029 seats available

I’ll have to check this again tomorrow, but I understand we surpassed 20,000 ticket sales at around 9pm this evening.

I’m hearing Colchester have sold around 250 tickets.

    Fantastic effort by all.

Records broke ain't it Dave. I buy a season ticket and I can guarantee you I will not go to all home games. Football is my main go to but it ain't essential. I have other interests ( as identified above) and commitments.

As for this initiative, good on the club. I mentioned it to a couple of customers at my bookies today and the initiative, has peaked their interest. Who knows if it will result in a sale but cheap ST or matchday should be applauded.

Club expecting an influx of sales for this weekends clash against Colchester; following two fantastic performances at Doncaster and Gillingham.

Collectively, just over 1,050 tickets remain in the Main Stand, Kop and Midland Road.

With just over 1,100 available in the NW corner.

Depending on how quickly these tickets sell, relocating away fans to the Bradford End could be a possibility - using the current away end (last two blocks of MR) as overflow for home fans.

    Don’t miss out.

After ruining my eyes , looking at the official club website for Capacity confirmation, and doing all the relevant mathematics, taking into account segregation etc, by my workings out we have sold 20047 home tickets so far.
    Capacity ATM is 24840
TL Dallas is 1644 so take that off
1300 last 2 blocks in Midland Road, plus the 300 seats segregation.
Take 300 off for block A in The West Stand.
Leaves us with 21296 home seats.
We have 1249 seats left on sale.
    20047 plus whatever Colchester brings.
    Great turnout
    I had time to spare

I think you'll be wrong on this. There's a different buzz and vibe for tomorrow which has been absent for a long time and a fair few who might not have been tempted recently will be there tomorrow. If there was no appetite for this game they wouldn't have shifted so many extra tickets. There have been games where the actual attendance has been way under what was announced but that won't be the case tomorrow I'm sure.

Well, well, well. Eat your heart out @bantamlad92@bantamlad92

I was proven wrong by a wonderfully full VP yesterday, much to my delight and surprise! There were absolutely over 20k there yesterday and from my view in the main stand, the NWC, Kop and even Midland Road end looked packed to the rafters. Serves me right for being a negative Nora and now looking like a bit of a tool on this thread.

Anyway, that was the best period of stoppage time I've experienced in a long time at VP, makes a change to conceding late doesn't it.

    Onwards an upwards

They’re not that cheap now, £200 compared to about £130 when they first started doing cheap rates. Midweek gates have always been lower,in fact in the 70s 80s we’d get about 3,500 compared to 5,000 on a Saturday. Attendance at City these days is fantastic ,even midweek and if someone had told me we’d get regular five figure crowds back in the 70s nobody would believe it. We had to be playing Huddersfield or Sheffield Utd to get five figures in those days.

For the amount of fans that Colchester will bring, we could just house them in the old tea kiosk in the south-east corner!

Still makes the hairs on the back of my neck stand up.

40 years at the lower reaches of the FL says that was phenomenal for me.

looks to be heading that way Dave, other than a few blocks in the top of Norman Corner, most blocks have just a few left on sale and quite a few blocks completely sold out.
It just goes to show the potential of this club, under the right ownership.

Remember the (bad) old days stood on the kop or in the Bradford end with Patsy/Pete Newby leading the singing with a 2-4K crowd. Never thought we’d have a ground (albeit nothing owned) and a support base like we have now. Took a while as we didn’t even get great crowds in Prem days if I remember rightly.

How can anyone decry the cheap ticket initiative is beyond my comprehension.

The same ones that paid half a crown for their season ticket and boo at home games perhaps?

Stand where you like at away games, do what you want, break the law and if others don't like it they can always move somewhere else can't they. The merest hint of anyone occupying 'their' seat at at home match however and it's bring back capital punishment time.
