Cheap tickets for Colchester (h)

Didn’t we let fans in free one time? Think it was Watford. Still didn’t fill the ground

 

As my son is not coming down for this match I'd already bought my ticket at the normal price. No complaints I found a seat on row A in the upper tier of the Kop.

 

Maybe it’s just the big crowds I think of when we seem to flop.
I think we did one for Stockport at home as well when pretty sure Evans scored a last minute winner thinking about it

 

I won't be there.. Day at the races more engaging than this football malarkey

 

All the tickets went for the Watford match,but as they were free people were taking loads and not using them. Then the game was postponed and the rearranged game got about 17,000.

 

Great incentive. I honestly wouldn't mind them doing this a couple of times a season

However, any more and it would rankle with a lot of ST holders

I already know a couple of fans who don't normally get down to VP but will be for this game due to it being a fiver

 

I always thought that "A Night At The Opera" was the better Queen album of the two, but each to there own.

 

Sounds very similar to the cheap season ticket situation we have now.
They’re so cheap that people can’t be arsed turning up for every game.
Tonight will be a good example, attendance will be announced as 16k plus but in reality there will be fewer than 10k actually in the ground.

 

If we a need a result, then I really hope we do this for the Leyton Orient game. Imagine the buzz, we need a point for the playoffs (or better), 22,000 crowd ! The pubs in twon would be happy as well.

 

That's right we did. It was the season we were both battling to stay in the league and of course ended up with Stockport going down.

A bit of bother in the Midland Road stand that day as some Stockport fans had bought the £5 tickets in the home section

 

They’re not that cheap now, £200 compared to about £130 when they first started doing cheap rates. Midweek gates have always been lower,in fact in the 70s 80s we’d get about 3,500 compared to 5,000 on a Saturday. Attendance at City these days is fantastic ,even midweek and if someone had told me we’d get regular five figure crowds back in the 70s nobody would believe it. We had to be playing Huddersfield or Sheffield Utd to get five figures in those days.

 

£200 is still nothing. Not hard to spend that much on a weekend these days

 

It’s round about what Yorkshire county cricket club charge for a member’s season ticket and they’d be gobsmacked if they sold 14,800

 

Probably the wrong man to comment here as I've never watched cricket but would expect more at that price?

Our price per home game if you’re a season ticket holder is cheaper than Polish football

It’s a 12.30 kick off, pubs won’t benefit before game.
Would Orient travel in numbers for a 12.30 kick off? Maybe if they need something but if already champions and have had their parade I doubt many will come.
