"A better than expected turn out of Bradford fans seemed to be let down by the total lack of effort in their team. OK all the time it was 1-0 they were in it, they went through the motions, even might have scored when Bauer blocked, and yes hit the post too, however only by us shooting ourselves in all 22 feet (plus subs) would we have failed to win that.
It felt like Bradford City let their players have duvet days when they don't fancy going to work, but the players had all used up their ration and were taking a duvet day anyway. they were pretty awful.
That we didn't win by a lot more can be put down to profligacy as much as anything, with the Lyle Taylor miss inexcusable (sorry Lyle), but it can also be put down to kicking the wrong way which is hardly ever a good thing. It might even be down to complacency because in the first half in particular it wasn't even a contest. Our crowd start to 'ole' after 30 minutes that says it all, it wasn't really a competitive match and all the worse for that. If Bradford escape relegation it will be as surprising as Theresa May getting divorced to marry Jeremy Corbyn."

 

Don't worry. Payne will be back in two weeks.

These two players seem to put in the effort week in week out.
Ball also tries his best.

 

Our players were dead on their feet today, yet Charlton didn’t even get out of 1st gear. OB and Caddis put a real shift in. Wood looked rusty. Both centre backs did ok. Keeper made a very decent save. Anderson still looks unfit. A few times I thought he’d been subbed, because he was nowhere to be seen. Ball isn’t a winger but is forced to play there. Would like to see him play as an out and out sttiker. Doyle hopeless again. Butterfield should have scored. Akpan needs more effort.
A draw would have been lucky, but we did put in some encouraging spells of pressure. So much better when we keep hold of the ball and don’t panic. Too many misplaced passes again.
In fairness, they should have been two orctheee up. Mop head is a decent striker. Shouldn’t have missed from 6 yards. They’ve got pace throughout the team too. Would love that.
We go again.

They were out of their depth but they tried hard. this lot don't give a f*&k. It would be nice to be proved wrong though.

 

Before every game, you hope they’ll put in a performance that says they’re up for the battle.

Then the whistle goes and you realise it’s “as you were”.

30 odd games of pretty much the same consistent crap, makes you realise that this Saturday will be the same as most game days we’ve had this season. Without reinforcements or injured players being available, it’s the same 14, same keystone cop defenders, same disappearing midfielders and same run around half arsed attackers.

The only hope is that those contracted beyond the end of the season, know that Bowyer will be here so they are playing for their immediate futures.

What's Miller got to do to get a game and why do we keep persisting with this formation that doesn't work for us, just go 442 and keep it simple

 

I don’t rate him either, but Maybe he believes Anderson is simply playing to the best of his ability, giving 100% and acting professionally in his approach? Maybe that’s why other more talented individuals are left out, and maybe he realises that this basic principle needs to be embedded with a view to the longer term rebuild of the side.

 

The season from hell continues, City are paying Payne even more money post january to not even make the bench.

Absolutely. Surely it would have made more sense to give Clarke and Miller at least 20 minutes to try and make a difference rather than bringing them on with 5 or 6 minutes to go. If we had conceded again so what, we were losing anyway but if we had introduced more options up front sooner, we may have stood a chance of getting something from the game.
