Ironically I believe John Docherty brought both the above players to Bradford City.

 

I think we can improve on them going forward but agree that Ismael and Connelly are the best options available to us and should be occupying the wide spots, whether that's in a 4-3-3, 4-51 or 4-4-2. Dropping wingers to play an extra CB when we were already strong at the back just about sums up Bowyers management- baffling and negative.

 

Well a defender IS more likely to be shit at finishing, and Bowyer plays 5 of them...

The reality is, if we make the right moves tactically and in the transfer window, it's there to be taken.

It's ridiculous we're in touching distance of third, but we are - still, if we don't get a shift on there are going to be ten or more teams competing for the play off spots.

 

I will defend a manager unlike many who want them binned at the first opportunity however Bowyer isn’t helping himself. We might have several out poorly but that performance vs a team devoid of confidence was really poor. Cat calls from the away fans. Bowyer your football is shit. Hard to defend based on that tripe today. Not sure what he is seeing. Needs fresh bodies and impetus quickly. Or he may be struggling. Many didn’t enhance their reputation today. Carlisle fans we talked to after felt they missed an opportunity and they said they are terrible. That to me says a lot.

If you wanted to be positive you could argue we’ve been very unlucky losing Donaldson and suffering in the last two matches with the virus. Donaldson should be back soon. So will Doyle - or a shed load of money. The transfer window is about to open. We are getting quite adept at shutting teams out. These are all grounds for optimism and to me suggest it’s premature to talk about a managerial sacking. But Mr Bowyer is not inspiring confidence and it’s at least a legitimate question could we replace him with someone better. Someone slightly less bland. Somebody with fiery red hair and charismatic personality perhaps. But would he be up for a third coming? I seem to remember reading his wife was very much against the second. I think if I was Mr Rhodes I’d be sounding him out, just in case.

Speaking of McCall I can never forget his debut. He was small and frail looking and playing right back. Never in a million years could you have seen an illustrious career coming up, cup final goals, managing Scotland and captaining City in the Premier Division. What an incredible story if he could ever come back and bring success. He’s still young enough.

OMG that was dire.

O'Donnell made two tremendous saves in second half to prevent Carlisle winning the game and was my MOTM for that despite his constant hesitation in distributing the ball quickly to Paudie. Thats how poor we were.

Mc Carten did more in the short cameo he had than Connolly did all game. What does he have to do to start a game?

Oteh was dog shite and was jeered off by the fans.

Fantastic support which turned on Bowyer around 70 mins mark.

I was watching GB as the clear, loud and crisp rendition of "Gary Bowyer your football is sh ite". He just drank his bottle of water.

Oh and Matty Palmer you CAN pass forwards you know.

Only good thing about today was that you can get onto the M6 really quickly.

 

If performance has a bearing that has consequences ..why didn't he request a postponement due to the Flu virus sweeping through the Club?

 

Well having listened to that now I'm back in Edinburgh all I can say is he talks a good game.
At times the midfield players looked as though they had just met and couldn't t read a pass. Young Oteh is totally out of his depth.
I couldn't bring myself to applaud the team at the final whistle although Vaughan deserves some credit because he looked ill as soon as he entered the pitch.

 

You made a wise choice not going mate, unfortunately i did the opposite against my better judgement. Starting to get ugly amongst the support, worryingly has that McCall second season feel about it.
