The problem is our current manager only wants a couple more in, putting out feelers for Jan loans, hooray!

A CB to cover for Staunton, a ball winning midfield tiger, a winger that can stay fit and cross a ball and a striker that can find the net just once in a while is more than a couple of players.
Every media interview i would take the p!ss out of McCall and ask are City getting closer to a playoff place?

Talking of which, is the 2nd bottom club put in a playoff against a Conference club?
So maybe City will be a playoff club this season after all.

The comment "we are ready for the Jan window" is a joke.
Do they ever remember what they have said in previous
    seasons?

I can't see Southend making a recovery, they are worse than
us if that's possible.Barrow are falling and may end up in the mix
so with luck it may be one or two might deteriorate into a worse
situation and give us a better chance of survival.I hope the club
don't think "lets hit rock bottom" and then the only way is up
as rock bottom may be a swamp and we'll disappear!

The other clubs at the bottom after Christmas have the option of changing their manager, Thanks to Sparks we have removed that option for survival if needed

The scary thing is all the problems and players needed have been obvious from before a ball was kicked, while SMc talks like the problems have just turned up.

When he signed for Bolton their goals from free kicks went through the roof, food and drink for the likes of Beaver and Wheater, we have nothing to lose, we have 8 games before the transfer window is open I think Stuart is wrong on the free agents call.

I think the Rhodes master plan Operation FenceSit will be continued by Sparks which will see City comfortably in the play offs as one by one clubs take point deductions for admins

"Buy cheap, buy twice" - this should be emblazoned on the wall of the City boardroom in giant neon lights so that whichever owner or chief executive we have sees it every time they walk into the office.

We are now going to have to spend more money in January just to stay up than we would have had to spend in the summer in order to assemble a squad that could finish in the top half of the table. We'll have zero negotiating power in the January transfer window and if we want to stay up we'll have to pay asking price.

I don't think it will be possible to solve all of our problems on the pitch in January, we might have to make a stark choice between making us harder to score against or improving our chances of scoring goals. If we try to solve both of these problems at once we might end up solving neither. So for me the choice is do we bring in two wingers and a striker which gives us the option of reverting to 4-4-2, or do we bring in an experienced centre back and defensive midfielder to try and plug our leaky defence?

If we are in the bottom 3 post January window and showing no sign's of improvement the extended contract won't mean anything.

Wheater is exactly the sort of dominant centre half we need and he's currently rotting in Oldhams reserves. Although its not ideal, we also need some players with an affinity to the club, like Clarke has, Morais fits that bill and so would Andy Halliday who doesn't seem to be in the Hearts team at present. Talking of which, neither is Colin Doyle and he's a far better keeper than Blind man O'Donnell

It will cost us (again) to terminate both contracts robbing us of money to use elsewhere so that's a non starter am sure his "old friend" sorted that out before he left
Crazy situation to extend those contracts unless there is more going on behind the scenes than is being made public ;);)

How do you know the decision wasn’t made already re Stuart? Rhodes is my bet along with the Sparks promotion.

in Rhodes mind that gives us ‘continuity’

Rhodes has always been a walking disaster for this club, his list of mistakes is a long one.

You got the same restricted contact list Stuart has
Those players may have an affinity to the club but are not playing first team football for a reason
Fresh blood is what is needed Stuart said yesterday he has plenty of contacts time to make them work for him

    Wouldn’t waste a
The club has made some bizarre decisions in the past few years but this one really takes the biscuit. We wonder why we are where we are when abject failure is rewarded with a lovely new contract extension. You are bang on about his”mate “ sorting him out.No other reason to do this.We are heading for the biggest 6 months we may ever have and the club are having our pants down again.

I wonder if Stuarts contract extension was an instruction from Rhodes
before Sparks took over? Seems a controversial and quick decision so
soon after taking over the hot seat.

    All in it together mate.

    McCall new contract.
    Sparks promoted.
Rhodes consultant fee?? - not sure about that one but wouldn't shock me.

When you have a owner that doesn't care you can quickly pull the wool over their eyes.

I'd say so, i can't imagine any CEO on his first day in the job making such a pivotal decision off his own back.

If I am manager I am beyond what the fans think of me and I go two solid banks of four and go hard to beat and just grind out any results we can get to stop the Rot.

I’d even play Longridge at left wing and Evans at right wing and make them both work hard up and down all game. I’d sign a big horrible center half, Wheater if he’s still in reserves at Oldham? And tell the defenders your job is to be safe and stick your head and foot on everything. Clear to wings if needed. Sign a big striker, a unit who can hold it up and get us up the pitch.

it’s not my style of play and I hate it but needs must right now. The squad is abysmal and we will go down if we carry on

Doyle & hallidsy are at clubs far better than us. Actually for that matter so iare Hanson, Vaughan & Doyle. Morsis left Crawley to move north again as s promise to his family. They offered him a contract.

All three would walk into our team and significantly improve it. But then so would almost anyone.
