Would seem so, mind both will have to be improved on if we are to improve as a team, To strengthen a chain first remove the weakest links

 

He seems a very confident lad in interview.

 

Just a quick comment - I went down to the front to watch the subs in their half time drills. They were doing a 5 v 2 in the box routine and I noticed Butterfield has very fast feet but they were also totally controlled - by this I mean Miller was in the same game and moving quickly but was a 'bambi on ice' by comparison (if you get my drift)
If Jacob can stay fit then he could have a major impact on our chances

 

Right, he's had his little cameo introduction, don't piss about Hopkin, he starts next week.

For those that attended the game yesterday, how did he perform?

 

Not on the pitch long enough to form a lasting impression. Gave away a foul. Made one forward run with the ball that was direct. About it really. Someone on our coach was moaning that he looked off the pace but I couldn't see how he could determine that at all.

Would be nice to hear this from the Kop when the Bradford-lad bags his first goal in claret and amber!

 

Agree! Interestingly when he committed the foul he had shown nice control and movement to get the ball past the defender but didnt have the pace to get himself round so pulled the other guy back. I think the key this week is getting up to speed as he has had so little game time this season

Off the pace today a little and I suspect not quite match fit, Held up our usual pace of attack with neat passing and a tidy player with hopefully more to come,

 

I thought he was one of the few to come out with credit.

Two good feet, good eye for a pass, you can see he’s a technical and clever player. Every time the centre halves had it, he made himself available for the ball. They rarely gave it to him.

 

Looked a good player, certainly will be an asset.

Bet he’s got a sore neck after today though!

 

He’ll come good with a couple of games under his belt.

 

Obscene today the amount of times his teammates ignored him and just punted it upfield. Ffs. Why sign a playmaker and still proceed to go direct and miss him out?

He showed enough for me to know he'll be a real asset, but only if we use him. Lad must be looking around and wondering what he's walked into.

 

I thought he did get a fair amount of the ball in the last 20 minutes, when he also seemed to fade.

I've expressed my opinion regarding how unintelligent we looked as a team, repeating the same obvious mistakes ad nauseum despite no hint of an impending improvement at any point.

Really awful game and brainless performance, but while Payne had a shocker, Butterfield at least looked like he'd seen a ball before.

 

There where times when Butterfield was pointing to his feet for the ball and the centre half’s just hoofed it

Don't recall seeing him in the stands during the misery filled 2000's.
