Fair result. Both teams went for it, great atmosphere and both sets of fans seemed uo for the battle too, although I've heard louder sets of away fans.

Wonder if that crowd has made Mcdonald fancy the role a bit more?

 

You could see when McDonald came over to applaud the fans after the game that he is enjoying the experience. I think management might be growing on him.

 

Thought the first half was poor, got dragged into a Parky ball game where the ball hardly touches the floor, Mullin with the best chance of the half. Second half we were by far the better side, couldn't live with us when we moved the ball on the floor. Mentions for Pointon, Halliday, Smallwood and Gilliead who I thought were excellent. A point at the end of the day but two dropped against a team who offered little other than their front men.

 

Cook is out of sorts. Headers not directed correctly and not laying much off. Glad he is ours though. Cmon mate a few more fruit smoothies and less chips mate.

 

Good game for L2 that, you know what you are going to get with them but I thought on the whole we did well at the back.

They seemed to have the measure of cook for the majority of the game, but seemed to change in the last ten when Wilson and Tulloch had them on their toes going the other way, which I'd like to have seen pointon and Osadebe do more often

On another day we might have got a soft penalty at the end given a couple of shouts we had but on the whole, a couple of decisions aside in a five minute spell I thought the ref was fairly strong and fair for both teams

 

Agree. Said same to my lad, they were very average, seemed very shaky in defence and obviously rely on their strength in depth of quality forwards

One thing that spoiled the day for me (as well as the pathetically inept referee) was that fecking “Parky special one” banner someone made. Whoever thought that was a good idea needs a lifetime ban handing to them

 

I posted earlier in the season, I really wanted to see performances. That was one today.

Wrexham didn’t seem all that, but think the way we set about them was testament to it.

Honestly, I thought Parky would out smart us today. Our approach from first to last minute out worked them I think and we fully deserved to take something from the game. Hasn’t been enough times we’ve said that lately.

Fair play Taylor. Decent game given his last league start debacle.
Gillead and Smallwood. Decent.
Pointon. Lively.
Walker. Always at it.
Osadabe. Again fair play. Lacked end product but kept at it. His effort in the second half came from persistence which his testament how much he’s improved in recent weeks.

Lots of chances. Lots of desire. Lots of effort. As a base it’s all I ask for. Sharpen up the quality, become more ruthless up front and who knows, we might have a bigger part to play in this season then first thought.

Finally, Macdonald. Keep going son. Just keep going for now…….

Cracking game today,full on commitment ,it’s what fans want and we got it in spades.

 

It was going round from the sunwin to the kop, then disappeared. Hopefully some top fan did the right thing and screwed it up

 

A very fair result with two teams whom certainly played the game in a competitive way with some good touch football.

No classic, both afforded space with a low block. Good reaction to going behind but we created little (nor did they) and imo became predictable, using the sides.

Thought gilliead was motm for city today but there no 6 stood out a mile as the games motm

 

it is ridiculous. He is no longer our manager. Move on.

 

I’d offer and he will take. I’m sure. What a transformation and what an interview lasting two weeks!

 

You wouldn't have done. It was being passed around at the back of blocks E and F of the lower main stand and the lower NW Corner before it met its end in the Kop.
Giving Parky a round of applause is one thing, but a banner proclaiming the opposition manager as the special one is out of order.
What are the players supposed to make of that when they are turning out for a caretaker manager doing his level best?
It makes us look stupid to the opposition fans too. A dreadful idea.

Not really. I'd have moved Pointon to the 10 role and taken Walker off. Would have whipped Osadebe off earlier as well, like Bambi on ice at times.

Cook getting nobbled. Loads of shirt pulling. For a ref to book so many so early yet none of the officials could see how he was being man handled surprised me. If hughes had subbed Pointon like that there would have been hysteria. Pointon whilst not MOM for me was an influence and how he came off before Osadebe and walker was strange. Gilleard completely nullified Elliot Lee their most influential midfielder. On this showing neither of these two sides will win the league. They looked shaky at the back and their keeper got away with one when clattering cook who headed the ball yet the keeper is rolling around in the floor.
As good as Halliday was Ridehalgh wasn’t. Ash Taylor stood up well to Stephen fletchers strength. He had a solid game. Overall an end to end league 2 game. That I enjoyed. We would have been buried with hughes in charge of that game.
