    I can't begin to describe how much I'd hated going to VP under Hughes. I'd go as far to say that today was as good as anything he served up during his tenure here. And all this nonsense of the crowd making it difficult for managers, Kevin MacDonald showed all you have to do as a manager is get us on the front foot and put a proper shift in. If you do this apparent 'negative fanbase' will back you to the hilt and VP rocks like it did today.
    Pretty simple really but something that completely escaped Mark Hughes.

    Today was a real coming together of the fans and players. Very much needed. We just want to see players giving their all-and they seemed to enjoy it today in all honesty. The shackles were off and they could just express themselves.

    All at least 7/10* and when was the last time we could say that?

    * except Osadebe who looked really off the pace.

    Today also proved that Hughes’ constant post match claims of “front foot” football under his tenure were just words that he’d heard other managers use.

    Tempo dictates “front foot” football.
    Something we sadly lacked under Hughes.

    What did I say Hughes’s problem was Dave earlier this week. He made a simple game complicated. KM made it look far easier. 12 different players on show today. Credit to all concerned, absolutely well done.

    On that performance, I hope they take their time. Today the most outstanding feature for me was the togetherness of everyone in the dug out and on the grass.

    I’m not going to do a full rundown, but let’s give some due credit to the referee. He let the game flow, didn’t fall for any diving nonsense and for the most part got the major decision's right (Need to see the “penalty” again ) Hats off!
