Yes I got the same impression. Jan recruitment is becoming critical all of a sudden. It wouldn’t surprise me if Pattison is real long term, so cover for Walker is essential , especially as he’s oft targeted and booked!

 

No, if that is aimed at me I have been around and praised the team recently and Smallwood.

However, we are where we currently are and draws are not good enough for us at home.

If you can’t beat Morecambe at home then you can’t positively think we will beat Crewe or anyone else.

They have had StIves grass people in , world renowned, yet they can’t change the strata well below the pitch. We have to be realistic, bad weather , is what it is, especially after such a prolonged period.

 

I believe the strata under the pitch has been replaced by 3ft first with a layer of hardcore with drainage built under the midland road stand with then a layer of sand with channels every 3ft dug in before covering with a layer of draining fibre sand. Much more than say Harrogate who just cut and feed the surace each year and there pitch looks great most seasons. The pitch has had hundreds of thousands spent on it but still is nowhere near years ago when we won pitch of the season

 

The foul on gillead at the end of that clip [which wasn't given] shows just what a shit ref he was ,he couldn't have had a clearer view and they could easily have scored,if Cook had put his strike on the deck it was a certain goal

 

His over exaggeration of pitch conditions ? No credit to the opposition for stifling his forwards, no mention of our keeper not having to make a save. Pah!

 

More to the left of the keeper and he is not saving that shot, fine margins ,The ref was poor all night long, with strange decisions for both teams. Definately a foul on Gilly before that chance and the ref was only 5 yds away.

 

There are probably a lot of factors that make a difference. You would need to look at any potential differences in precipitation each ground experiences. That's just one factor. Perhaps years ago when we did win pitch of the year there just wasn't the volume of rain that we see these days.

It's only 2 seasons since the pitch was highly commended in the EFL awards. Whilst Newport are in the same league as us we'll never win the award outright as the amount spent on their pitch will be more than anyone else in the league and they can afford to install a hybrid pitch

Who are our Championship players? Nick Powell, then who? Tanto Oloafe? He's never made a league appearance for Millwall and only ever played in League Two or non league.

We also had National League North players in our team because our goalkeeper has been with us since then, our right centre back signed from that division as did the midfielder who came on at half time.

A couple of our players came from League One (Paddy Madden, Sarcevic, Pye came from Fleetwood's youth team) but the majority of our squad signed from non league or League Two.

 

He's a kid who is nowhere near ready for week in week out league football. We need to get him on loan to the National League again. He was our best player against Sheffield Wednesday in the League Cup and we lost something in the middle when he went off (he better than Pye was that day) but lacks consistency.

 

So many teams throughout the leagues now play the 'fall down, get a free kick and repeat' act, and it seems it's only the officials that don't see it ....
