Hope it ain't the ref from last week, we'd never get another home game on this season.

The pitch at Barrow did look ok, maybe he had another function booked for later that afternoon.

You were soooooo wrong about Gilliead though.

His performances this season absolutely warrant the deal he got in the summer.

They do as a wingback. Not so much in midfield.

Notts County - 1 win in 9. Hopefully there for the taking. This is the type of game we have historically lost 0-1 though.

Pointon and McDonald could be an excellent pairing.

I think his work rate is under appreciated IMO - I just dont think him and Smallwood compliment each other very well - both look better with McDonald. His versatility is vital at this level - even more so now with the injury prone Richards and awful Ridegash on the left.

Really? He's as ineffective going forward as he ever was and there's a reason he's now dropped into the defence.

My original point, so that it doesn't get twisted, was that Smallwood and Gillead are nowhere near good enough as a central 2 because neither one offers us enough goal threat or creativity and absolutely nothing I've seen this season has made me change my mind.

I would have thought the club would be looking earlier so not to incur any costs to the club for notts travelling look at the reaction last week from our fans and it was called off around same time

I imagine it was covered overnight due to the frost. I presume they will leave it on. Keeping the worst of the rain off the pitch.

I'd never question his work rate. He's not bad in CM, but its not his best position. And in a 343, you need your midfield 2 to dominate the ball, which Gilly isn't reknowned for. I think he's perfect as a left wing back. In fact, he and Halliday are as good as we're going to get for those roles in this league.

Slightly off topic but see Barrow with no game again tomorrow, Crawley pitch waterlogged.

Is it due to injuries he's no longer a right winger? Or injuries that he's no longer an attacking midfielder either?

Perhaps it's due to injuries that he's scored just 6 times and has a similar amount of assists in something fast approaching 200 games for the club despite playing as a winger and a no.10 in at least half of those appearances.

Gillead has been shifted about all his career and is now "versatile" simply because he's not been good enough to hold down a single position. There's simply no other way to dress it up.

For the record though, wing back is a good position for him and it's unfortunate Halliday has been ultra consistent or Gilly isn't left footed as I think he'd make a very good right wing back at this level but maybe won't be as effective going forward on the left.

Overall Ridalghe has done well for us as a fullback. He is now being asked to play Wingback which he definitely isn’t. But he is coming to the end of a decent career

Climate change is there for all to see. Norfolk is normally reasonably dry. Fields are flooded, the channels and drains are completely full . I have never seen it so bad and it’s rained and occasional hailstones for another 8 hours today. Yorks must be grim?

Tbf, Ridehalgh is a steady 6/10 full back. Never a wingback in a million years. And never found wanting for effort and attitude
