Good to see Songo’o keep his place, looks like Critch has an injury which isn’t surprising given the amount of minutes he’s played. Wright also a very welcome sight on the bench, what a weapon to have in your armoury later in the game

Angol not featuring at all, I hear he had a meltdown before the Blackpool friendly the other day when he found out he wasn’t starting ahead of Bobby Pointon, so he threw a strop and got his own way. Odd ball

Bobby Pointon is a better footballer than Lee Angol

 

Unfortunately when given his chance Angol has not produced the level he achieved under Sparkie during the last few games of last season, I hope he hasn't taken his bat home we don't need players with that attitude dig in and fight for your place.
Lee said at the end of last season the coming season was basically make of break for him and he had something to prove.

He gives me kittens in defence. If not an OG a potential penalty or sending off. Too rash to make up for total lack of pace. I am not slagging him as in terms of effort he is second to none. Just doesn't have the quality I'm afraid. Odusina has been a real disappointment and back up at centre back is a real weakness, especially with a loanee as a regular partner to Platt.

 

It happens as players age and they are not as quick as they used to be, then haven't been playing much, things happen quicker than they expect and they are fighting to catch up with the play.

That said, let's hope his second start in a row helps him to play well.

 

Don't really know the Northampton players at all but Hylton is a good player to have on the bench and come on and make an impact
