He won’t invest , so why should he spend all that money on a ground we don’t own, only to be used 2-3 times or so a season. It’s ridiculous waste of money for L1/2.

 

To be fair I did the same an hour ago. I've never known frost to stay that long once temps are up again. It's been bitterly cold mind.

 

Funnily we have just been down to the fields with the dogs and it’s starting to unfreeze the surface but below and around stud depth it’s frozen solid. Ankle breaking conditions.

 

I have many a time, you are obviously young. We used to get proper winters; you were lucky if the ground defrosted before March! The air temp needs to move up to about 8-10 degrees for it to defrost within 24 hours. What ppl need to remember at this time of the year if the ground freezes it normally stays colder than the air temperature and is liable to freeze if the temperature is down to 2/3 degrees.

 

It's been a right waste of money has that retractable roof. I haven't seen it being used once.

 

Around here it's tea for the oiks, dinner for the middle class, or those that think they are, and supper for those that really are.
