    Game day folks.
Whatever happens over the next 2 and hopefully 3 matches, we have to get behind the lads from first to last minute and if we do miss out , be ready to come back and go again next season.
I feel the oil tanker is turning and we have something to really get behind again.
Hughes will have learned a lot from his first full season at this level and will have plenty of room in the squad to improve again.

Yer, I get that and agree with you. I was expecting to see more from Hendry and McAleny. Salford didn't really create many clear cut chances aside from the goal and the save from McAleny in the second half.

I have been working at Stockport FC for the last few months ( in a financial capacity) and speak regularly with the Directors, apparently some of their key players are burning out due to not being rested enough !!!

I wouldn't be surprised if a few of those key players missing last night are available for next week. The plan may have been to keep things as tight as possible last night and then bring in the big guns at home next week when they know exactly what they need to do to get through. I still expect Stockport to be in the final.

Quite possible, they probably fancied a reasonable result away with a weakened team, and then do them over at home.

Yes me too…. I ain’t normally like that, never have been for over 60 odd years.
It’s going to be a long day waiting for k/ off . Disappointed that our son can’t get up to Norfolk to watch but he’s coming up next Saturday. . ( I have to behave though , it’s our wedding anniversary on Saturday so no beer! )
I can’t think of any distractions for today right now.
Fingers crossed . I just hope the lads on the grass can deliver the goods.

    No sarcevic either
I agree, but I think it's the lack of sarcevic that makes them one dimensional.

I know he hasn't been at his best lately but Jamie Walker may be a key player tonight.
He wasn't available for either of the league matches against Carlisle this season.

Be great if we could amp up the atmosphere and make it nice and loud

Last night's match had a real Conference North feel about it...

Thanks Dave , much appreciated. She’s been somewhat of a slave putting up with me and City over many many years. She only went with me the once….Arsenal at Highbury 1973, we lost. It’s was “unlucky” so she’s never been again, however it was a family day out Wembley V County in the play off final. Is that an omen?

Sarcevic isn't a key player for Stockport really, only had 19 starts this season, most of those at the start of the season when they started poorly. Sarcevic has only 5 starts in 2023, when their run really picked up pace.

Watching their highlights over the season, Wootton is their key missing man. Since they changed to a more direct approach, his target man play has been crucial to keeping them up the field for the quicker lads around to score or assist. The lad they signed in Jan isn't as good a replacement.

It was really really poor wasn’t it, however we got a screen shot of Kean, Neville along with Solskjaer and his son . We should be eternally grateful? . Not forgetting the big lad in a blue wig.

    Absolutely

Fantastic highlights, despite some frustrations along the way, we’ve had a brilliant season on the whole. Great home atmospheres at times, unbelievable highs at away games - Mansfield, Stevenage and Northampton been right up there. Some excellent players too, much better than we’ve had in previous seasons, Tyriek, Clayton, Stubbs, Lewis, Halliday, and the amazing Andy Cook. Most other fans have to wait until next season for more football, while this lot have given us more to play for

This video is a great summary of a wonderful season, and regardless of what happens in the next 2 (or if we’re lucky, 3) games, it bodes well for next season. Even the most pessimistic of fans (you know who you are) cannot deny it’s been a successful season. The players get it, the management staff get it, the fans get it

Bring on Carlisle, I cannot wait

I have castigated Chappy all season , and rightly so imho, however he WAS an outlet on the left. For that we miss him. Osadebe or Clayton is the dilemma.? ( Not both vying for the left side before any asks) . MH did say he might have a surprise during this weeks interview on YT. Worth a watch.

This is true but it’s not a league game now.

The 1st leg does matter as we are at home and need to take some kind advantage for the second leg.
