GA has the same issue all our recent managers have; he isn't being set up for success. An absent owner and incompetent CEO, with a backdrop of no real long term football plan or ambition to guide the club. And he's inherited a squad that was assembled and coached to play a style of football that's as different to his own preferred style as it could be. I'll be honest, I don't think he'll be here for next season.

Too many fans are giving Alexander a free hit for my liking. He is by no means THE problem at this club but he's shown nothing to suggest he is the manager capable of moving us forwards.

His style of football, if you can call it that, is worse than I feared and it is a completely miserable 90 minute experience.

We simply have to do everything possible to get Rupp out of this club. How he or anyone else thinks the club is worth 10million I just don’t know.
Sparks should be shifted sideways to concentrate on marketing and corporate with a new CEO to replace him.

Apparently he isn't the problem, some on here and elsewhere continue to suck farts out of his arse. Well i've got news for these arsekissers, he IS the problem right now. Leaving everything at the club to Captain soundbyte so he can massage his CV.
Lest face it we've changed everything else and nothings worked.

Lets be honest, since we invested all that money it has held up well and this really is an isolated incident where rain is concerned.

Its rained constantly since teatime yesterday, all night and this morning.

Its the stadium, not so much the pitch anyway. It is what it is.

    It’s always the same.
All the amateur groundsmen and meteorologists come out to play when we have a postponement.

As others have said, let it go Loyal. After your initial bad mouthing of the Club I asked you to say how many fixtures have been postponed since the drainage work in 2018, you didn't answer but others have, answer zero. You might like to research how many games have been off at Accy and Rochdale in the recent period since they installed new pitches and drainage, you may be surprised to know the answer is more than at VP.
I'm not a weather man but I have good geographic knowledge and I was responsible for construction all over the country and have seen massive localised differences in climate / weather.
Look at last week alone. On Monday we had heavy rain after the frosts, I didn't give the Liverpool game a chance and yet the rain stopped, covers were removed and water cleared from 6.00 a.m. and the result was a great playing surface which drew compliments from Liverpool. Contrast that with Accy's L2 game called off after the next wave of rain hit late in the day on Tuesday when the next named storm hit.
Now move to Saturday, the bad weather moved East leaving Accy rain free, match on but then hit us, match off. These rainfalls were extremely heavy and very local, for example Rochdale and Radcliffe game off, Oldham and Hyde on, all within a few miles. Accy has the benefit sometimes of being in the Pennines rain shadow where subject to wind direction, rain is dumped the other side of the hill, i.e Rochdale whilst such as Accy, Blackburn and Burnley escape the worst.
Suggest you also read GA in today's T&A for a more level appraisal.
I've had enough of this now but a friendly word of advice, my friend. Don't be so quick with the vitriol unless you've done the research.

I think ppl can make their own mind up. We are all adults, take a look outside, read the weather forecast and make a decision. For those travelling I wouldn’t want to risk expense and time with this kind of forecast.

No, he was simply proving to people like you, who doubt that the club did it's best to put on the match, that it was totally unplayable. Shut up and accept that if a groundsman and a PGMOL official have inspected it then the decision is correct.

Your moaning is just based on your plans being ruined, not the safety of 22 players. You'd soon be wearing the boot on the other foot if Cook had fallen and broken his hip on a clearly frozen pitch.

You really are deluded aren't you. Basically what you are saying is you know better than the professional groundsman and a referee, all done through your special powers to judge the state of a pitch whilst being miles away from the ground.

The video that Mick did was absolute proof that the pitch was unplayable, but hey, you know best.

Still, at least your comments are providing a laugh. Don't take up a career as a weather man.

We seem to have no plan. It’s just hit it up the field and hope something comes of it. There’s no clear plan of how we’re going to attack or approach the game. Just 11 players running around.

Cook has offered zero all night. His movement has been non-existent……but he’s not on his own. Terrible, terrible, terrible team performance. You can feel the misery in the stadium via iFollow - how Pointon hasn’t been given a game is beyond me.

His good will ended a long time ago for me, the less I say tonight the better tbh. An absolute arsehole in a position he was never fit for. I wouldn’t trust him to bring in another manager and I have no faith in that manager either. What a state.

I know there are a lot of long-standing fans on here, some long before my first game in ‘79. This has to be one of the worst two teams I’ve seen represent our club. I just can’t see a way out of this cycle of shit at present. I couldn’t go tonight and for the first time I can remember since that game against Aldershot in 1979, I just don’t want to go to the next home match. I have never jumped on Rupp out before. You can find worse examples (honestly) of club owners, but we have to rip this current manual up. If only it was straightforward. He’s not going to give the club away so someone has to be daft enough to buy it from him. Depressing, but I’m beginning to think there are other things to do on match days.

Why would I want them to go away? I enjoy having the odd bet, win or lose.

Agree, can't blame the club for this one. Weather has been atrocious, and several games in lower league's are off.

We have frost covers not rain covers. If you put rain covers on where do you expect the rain to go other than flooding the edges?

So time to rejuvenate this thread. Surely with deep lying frost, storms and heavy rain, this match must be………;)

I guess Mick Doyle is helping to keep fans informed. I thought his video at the weekend was really insightful and fully explained why we were called off while Farsley were able to play
