You will have plenty of time to lie down ha.

I would say 50% of the 9m or so on Furlough need to worry about their jobs and every day an exit plan isn't outlined then companies will start getting more concerned this is going on longer than May and will start planning cuts after.

Sport brings hope, a sign of normality and if that's struggling to form come backs then businesses will struggle.

Lots of businesses will cut staff because they won't want to go through this again and as you say that possible second wave.

People need to think Furlough is going to save them because it might not. More than likely won't unless we get back to business soon.

    100% hit nail on head.
There’s millions out there sitting pretty with their 80% wages to sit at home doing nowt And not caring how long this lockdown lasts but we’ll see those people crying when the furlough period ends and they have no job to go back to.
Employers will realise they can survive on the skeleton staff they retained and just let some furloughed staff go.

don’t think I’ve ever agreed with you this much. Stick to business and economy in future and leave football matters alone. Lol

Sports unfortunately also brings people together which brings risk. Even if the lockdown is lifted contact will be still be restricted until there is a vaccine

Sport brings too money to the economy. The government and sporting bodies will be thinking non stop of ways to make it work.

My gut feeling is businesses will not reopen until June 1st as they’ll take full advantage of the furlough scheme

I think the point was who funds it, as in where the money comes from. Not actually who sends you the money

There isn’t anyone who isn’t concerned about the economy, both in the shorter and longer term. But whilst there’s a balance to be had, it comes down to prioritising human life over economic protection. There may come a point though, that the risk to life in the longer term, as a result of the restrictions in place, becomes a bigger risk than COVID. That’s the balancing act that needs to be found. But you can’t just say ‘enough is enough, lets get back to normal’ if you don’t have a level of confidence that the health risks can be managed. There’s no magic way out of this, a lot of people are going to suffer in various ways. Nothing is more precious than life though. And i’m not just talking about the appalling disregard that thankfully only a very small number seem to have for those most at risk, and those who’ve paid into a system for a long, long time and who deserve respect and compassion, i’m talking about the risk to the lives of people who are being taken as a direct or indirect result of this disease. I know of 3 people who’ve lost loved ones and not one was over 50. Its a sh*t sandwich any which way. But opening up for business en masse, before its safe to do so, will erode much of the sacrifice that many have made over the last month.

Middle of May. Peak now or next week. Testing vastly increased to 100k by end of April(Hancock says). Lockdown extended until early May.

Some businesses(maybe some retail) will be allowed to reopen in the middle of May then businesses reopen end of May/June.

However, a plan needs to outlined quickly because if not Furlough workers will be in deep trouble.

120% increase in domestic abuse calls. Damn. Disgusting!

Keep on saying sport needs to urgently come back. It's a realise.

Behind closed doors or anything. Needs to come back ASAP.

I don’t know why you’re so keen on seeing this plan. Whatever it is, you’ll moan about it.

You think domestic abuse has increased because there’s been no sport?

Is that the new Fordy thought, people beat their partners cos no sport on TV?

the general consensus is more people beat their partners cos they are stuck inside together eg one or the other is usually out more, not over what is on TV

If no plan then businesses will plan for longer periods with low cash flow meaning most on Furlough could lose their jobs.

Exactly. Throw in the likelihood of increased alcohol intake as a result of boredom and its not surprising. Ultimately - and I know its not always easy - if someone is in an abusive relationship, they need to get out.
