And good defending is just as much good football as is good attacking Swindon didn’t look a threat just like the previous 8 teams we have played because of some very good defending

You know it is going to be the 5-3-2 bus service for this one.

Spot on. If you can draw away, against the team which is currently the top of the table, then that is a decent result.

It’s the ‘away’ results against Carlisle, Orient and Macclesfield, teams in the lower quarter of the table, where you can reasonably expect more than draws, which is going to cost us.

Bowyer is looking to get the results, some of the fans want us to do that in style as well. It's not always possible to do both

Personally, I think we're on course to win the league, or walk the top 3 anyway. We have the best home form in the top four leagues, bar Liverpool, our best for 35 years. We have the best defence in the league and, as the old adage goes, strikers win you games but defences win you titles. In the last 15 games, only you have a better record (on goal difference) and we're about to take half your goals out of your team.

All this with a lengthy injury list and 3 games over xmas where a sickness bug ran through the team but we still managed to get 7 points AND nobody shat themselves on the pitch! In the coming weeks we should be getting Ismael, Donaldson, Devitt and Doyle to add to this incredibly solid foundation.

When you have such a good baseline to work from, the performances tend to take care of themselves after a while. And, even if they don't, I'll take scraping boring 1-0 wins til the end of the season and getting out of this league at the first time of asking rather than spending 6 years watching it every week last time, now that was boring to watch.

0-0 at table toppers isn’t plodding along. Would be a good result.

Shows how pathetically impatient a large portion of our fan base really is.

Bowyer getting the team prepared for Doyle coming back and being played as a sole targetman again :)

Swindon commentator on ifollow - "bradford will only score from a mistake from town or a set piece"

Clinton Morrison on Soccer Saturday - "vaughan is so isolated"

Everyone can see it except Bowyer.

Excellent point, well done to Bowyer and the players.

Now lets recall Doyle and push on. Swindon wont go up without him

Might just be me but watching that game caddis was one of Swindons best players, he is so much better than mellor and henley even though hes not quick at all apart from that they really aint anything special

How's he got away with it?

He chose what looked like a tentative team, I've no idea why he persists with Henley and yes paid the price

But he then changed it in the second half and in fairness we were the better team for the last 20 minutes

Six points, with a game in hand, off these Swindon pure footy purists and still missing Donovan, Pritchard and Ismail, the former a key player who we've had to cope without for weeks - but still the moaning goes on

In L2, when you've got players of similar ability at the different teams, it's not about the football quality. It is about the belief and that only comes from the skills of the manager and ability to inspire players to keep going and have faith in project

We now get better as the match wears on, we're almost taking it for granted. Yes. we need to start matches better - but last season when teams did to us what we've just done to Swindon, the likes of yourself were full of praise for them

Fourth having played the best team twice and not lost, with key players poised to come back - with 22 matches left. Yet, this seems to be a negative with some

Lots of you have decided that he's our new John Doherty and of course you're entitled to your opinion

But is simply doesn't fit in with his DNA. His Blackpool team scored more than we did in that 2017/18 and when we played them, first match of the season, they didn't try and hang on for a draw, but actually put up a plucky attacking performance - we at the time were simply better. 3 shots on target out of a total of 9, isn't that shy for a newly promoted team playing at the previous seasons play-off finalists

And the early season performances, weren't that bad. Oldham, Carlisle, Swindon, Northampton were decent performances for L2

I simply think he has a worry about the vulnerability of the defence, as we have do no have a true CDM player and so particularly after the wild Crewe and Cheltenham away matches, decided we needed to be harder to beat

Nobody gives him any credit for turning us around in such a short time - can we judge him after the three windows he said it would take (assuming we don't have a major results slump) and when we've seen his actual team for say three matches on the trot

Note, I've said several times our play is rubbish - but I'm not going to assume that this is all Bowyer is about

I have lost count of how many players we have had off injured and for long periods as well! Not to mention the whole squad off with sickness bug in rotation. During all that time you have had the No 1 striker who we are partly paying to keep you in top spot. Pardon me for not feeling any sympathy.

So Anthony O has faced arguably the two best attacks in Swindon and Exeter (with respect to Crewe) and been MoM in both. I think we can move on from last season and realise what a good player, he actually is

This is division 4. We are ALL crap except Swindon who are the only team in the division to have had injuries.

Quite right. As a spectator today I thought Swindon faded badly, in fact one who kept going was Caddis. Four points from a very average team just proves the Doyle effect when he is missing. If as rumoured Yates goes back to Rotherham and Doyle??? they will do well to be in the play offs in my humble opinion

Hockaday wouldn't shut up about it on the commentary, constantly going on about our team of big lads. Take out the centre backs today and we don't have a player over six foot. We might go long a lot be we aren't what I would call a physical side.

Exactly! We’ve been screaming from the rooftops about how boring we are and the lack of goal scoring threat from open play and here we have the league leaders creating absolutely feck all up front.

Stephen Darby will be at tomorrow's match as Swindon wear their Darby-Rimmer kit.

now beginning to infuriate me that Bowyers signed some fecking good players and can clearly spot talent yet is absolutely wasting it with negativity. He's made us hard to beat now build on that with some decent attacking play, we have some of the best individual footballers in the league yet they're wasted. I'm all for giving him time but he's gotta take his head out of his arse on this one.
