Away vs Stevenage

Dear me. Wow. Proper hanging on for the last 15 mins.
I thought Akpan was useless, but my God Patrick is shocking. He was running in circles at one point - I guess that's where the rush of blood to the head came from to shoot instead of running down the clock. Facepalm.
Wood played well. Centre backs did a job. Keeper made two fantastic saves.
Vaughan a nuisance all game. Donaldson ran allnight. Devine found a second wind in the last twenty mins. Put himself about. Scannell was poor. Palmer a little bit anonymous.

Forget about Devitt. We need two midfielders, and then a striker.

 

I think our defense (and goalkeeper) should get the most credit for the first four games of this season, our forwards look good but our defense has operated with a weakened midfield and still kept three clean sheets in the last four league games only conceding one goal.

 

In a nutshell, the benefit of experience.

 

A gritty sounding performance to bring home the 3 points. Its midweek performances where you have to grind out results at places like this, that can be the difference between challenging for promotion or not. These are the sort of games where in the past we would have been lucky to come away with a point

Stevenage were not poor tonight. We fought all the way, I can’t remember such a battling performance. Connor Wood outplayer MOM O’Donnell for defence.

They dug in even when we were not playing well, just imagine that match last season!

He really did. He needs to stay in the side as a left back and we need to add some proper midfield quality.

 

Did say we were clearly better at the back but got shot down earlier in season. Think it’s clear for all to see.

Where’s all the Bowyer doubters? Crawling back into woodwork?

Enjoyed watching Vaughan and Donaldson talking to each other and showing each other how they're trying to play. Such obvious experience.

The first bit is spot on. The second, you watched a different game to me.

Its clear from our games so far that this midfield is poor. Tonight, they were chasing shadows against an injury ravaged Stevenage side. They couldn't get close. And when they did get the ball they couldn't keep it.

 

I said when fans were saying we should have beaten Cambridge the first game of the season I thought they were well organised and they are right up there with us.

 

Richards-Everton could turn out to win one of the end of season awards I reckon. He's a mountain at the back and loves to compete and get into the game.

 

Bring on the lettuce munchers....!!

They haven't come up to the likes of O'Donnell before tonight, thought he commanded his box and made some good saves one Banksyesque.
