And that is exactly how we should be approaching the game too. There are no outstanding teams in this league and anyone can beat anyone on the day, as long as they have belief, desire and confidence. I firmly believe the outcome of Monday's game will come down to who wants it more, and so it will probably be a draw.

 

No need to fear anyone but respect their form and expect a tough game

 

Didn't mention anything about amount of fans, history, budget etc. Current form means nothing when it comes to your own mindset, if anyone thinks any game in league 2 is going to be hard based on current form we might as well pack up now, the general standard in this division is poor and on the day anyone can beat anyone.

 

If we have any hopes of getting into the play offs then we have to win.

If on Monday night Stevenage are above us then then for me that's a massive blow to our chances and we will be bottom half AGAIN!

 

Obviously it's down to what we do in games, but yesterday with results going our way with other teams around us losing that also had a bearing on our league position.
Without doubt on our day we can beat anyone in this league, Stevenage are in a good run of form and at home they will be expected to bring the game to us, I cant see T& S changing much so I expect the same starting 11 with a similar bench that has the capability of changing a game used correctly so we go for all 3 points but coming back with a draw would not be a disaster IMO.

 

Yes I'll explain.

First of all, I never said they were 'out'. I said that if our 'tactic' was to ensure they don't get more than a point in order to take them out of the play-off picture then it's a poor do, and a crap approach.

As to their (excellent) current form, the odds of them maintaining it for the rest of the run-in are slim - such runs don't go on for ever (remember our great run when T&S took over?).

And I stand by my point that there are much greater threats than Stevenage to what is looking like possibly only one vacant play-off place being chased by quite a handful of clubs.

I agree with Steve. It's a tough game and AOC is better defensively and Sutton is better in CM. The move strengthens both positions and for me makes a lot of sense.

 

I had Southend down for a home win, hopefully still time for Southend to come back.
The lad Zanzala who's scored for Carlisle was at Accrington Stanley on loan from Derby County the season when they beat us 3- 1 at their place very pacey for a 6"1' striker.

We might finish in the play offs we might not but what I am certain of is that since the new regime of Sparks Turnbull and T&S have taken over they have done a great job just to getting us in with a chance

 

Stevenage have been very impressive this season, coming from bottom and climbing up the table since Jan.
Last year would have been relegated but for Macclesfield.
Revell must be a heck of a good manager as they brought in a fair few loan deals in the Jan transfer window and yet hardly any of them are starting.
ex City Jordan Gibson doesn't figure at the moment and on their bench they have a certain Vincelot.

Going to be a tough game for us but even a good team can lose against City-see Cambridge/Cheltenham

 

Really you see Stevenage, Leyton Orient, Scunny have really highlighted that Sparks, Turnbull and T & S haven't done anything major as yet.

The test for these is next season. That's we we can really judge them.

Well no we can't because we were in a fake position at the start of the season.

If we were truly judging correctly then you would be judging Sparks with OFF the pitch development. Turnball on players brought in and T & S on the league.

If we are judging now then I 100% expect the play offs and anything else would be failure but I have ruled out this season. Play offs would be a bonus but I don't think we will do it and neither do you.
